Krocks In The Kitchen Hi Brian and Jessica Thank you so much for all the good work you are doing. I have been following the Plant based eating from February 2020 and lost 23 Kg it has stopped and I follow Chef AJ and you guys. I have to get this right this time after being on so many diets . I do not consider this new life style easting to be a diet. I have to sometimes pinch my self after eating meat for 55 years , it has been easier than I thought. I am happy to be on this new direction, and you two make it easier, when I feel I “ am loosing it “ I connect to you channel as it is very grounding and true. Thank you once again Marc Swart South Africa

Hi, new to your channel. My doctor wants me to lose weight. I want to get healthy. So here I am searching for healthy lifestyle channels. Great job on losing the weight! I hope to be in your shoes in a year. I'm 40, 6 ft 3, 452lbs. High blood pressure. Just put on diabetic meds. Having a hard time sleeping at night, feel like I'm suffocating. I'm so ready to be skinny and healthy!

You have been so inspirational to me. I am taking my conversion to WFPB SOS diet slowly. I have always been vegetarian but have now eliminated all dairy. Next to go will be sugar, then oil, and then salt. Also I have quit soda and now drink only water. Keep making videos. I enjoy them so much and feel less alone on my diet adventure.

have you guys seen the videos on here of how to make tortillas/wraps out of just red lentils and water? they are amazing. we have them for breakfast with fruit and nut butters and for dinner with hummus and veggies. great way to make wraps from nothing but lentils. we have a great non stick pan and you don't even need oil to fry them up! amazing. just wondering. you can also bake the batter in the oven until drier and crispier to make "pita chips" for your chili, just from red lentils and water.

Hi, I started watching your channel because I was curious about how you lost so much weight together. It's quite rare I think that couples can accomplish this. I found myself drawn to your videos and usually watch one or two a day. My daughter and I have some weight to lose and so I thought this would be a good way to get started. As interesting as your videos are, and very well done too, I still felt drawn and now I know why. Brian you have a very beautiful spirit and it's of the Lord. I followed a link to your music page. The song, "Do It Again" is a powerful one that has encouraged me recently through a very difficult trial. I'm a believer too! Thank you for being obedient in following your goals. You both are a blessing!!! Keep them coming and God bless :) by the way...this comes from Canada :)

Great Q&A! Please don't change how you do things. The reason you are so encouraging to so many folks is that you look like "regular" people with doing this without a personal chef and personal trainer in your own kitchen with basic affordable food. I love watching/listening/reading Dr Gregor and Dr Esselstyn and experts like that, but y'all really provide me the motivation to stick with it because you've walked in my shoes. Love y'all!

WE ALL get tired of salad. I like to make a mini salad and wrap it in a brown rice wrapper and have a responsible dip for flavor. That "funs" up the process. Also I have been enjoying warm lettuce, (sounds gross) but I will put a scoop or two of hot bean soup on top of shredded lettuce or something warm like a Mexican rice on top of lightly shredded lettuce and it's pretty good. It's another way to get those veggies in.

Love the new do, Jessica! Great video, guys. Lots of info. Jessica... So interesting that you don't like avocado. I never ate any till I was way older, and didn't really love them then. Now, they are a problem food for me. It's a whole food, and not a fake meat or other processed food, so easy to justify. It's on my list of fatty foods that might be best to abstain from for weight loss, so have to make a decision. That's the key; making that decision. Funny thing is that there's a lot of foods I used to binge on that I don't even care about any more, so I know a lot of, so called, cravings can be overcome. There's hope.. lol Thanks for telling us about your journey. Much appreciated.

I always feel like I should eat salad, but I don't really like salad. I've found that lettuce wraps make a good substitute, but mostly I make taco bowls with lots of vegetation - so it's almost a taco salad (without the fried shell that it's usually served in).

Y’all are amazing and very inspirational! Wish I had your discipline. I lost a ton of weight early in my WFPB journey, then discovered vegan junk food. Out of the 70 I lost I’ve gained 30 back and am so frustrated and disappointed in my complete lack of self-discipline. But I hit a plateau for 6+ months and got bored with the food early on. I am also a stress/anxiety/boredom eater and exceptionally lazy - so foods requiring lots of prep or ingredients won’t be go-tos for me. But I gotta get back on the wagon, because I’m feeling like crap again, and I can tell by how my heart feels that I’m negatively impacting all the progress I made. If I had a partner who was eating this way with me it would be great, but my family are rabidly anti-vegetable even after seeing the help it initially gave me. Oh well. I’ll keep plugging along until something clicks.
@lizanelson32964 жыл бұрын
I’m also trying to get back on the road to health, and have lost weight and then regained it. I’m doing better, but my husband is QUITE the meat-eater, and my daughter is a vegetarian only because she doesn’t eat meat. Lots of bread and cheese, though. SO……I’m determined to just do what I need to do, and set a good example. It’s up to them to follow my example, but if they don’t, I’m going to stick with it. It helps ME, it helps me lose weight and feel better. Let’s just do what’s best for ourselves and hope that it might finally help our family to want to change.

m1cajah: what a shame your family are against plant based 🌱 diet!. There are some amazing recipes on this channel 👌. It’s difficult without support, but I hope you can figure out a way to get back in the wagon. Well done for losing the 70lbs! 👏. You have put some of it back on, but NOT all. You can do it! Wishing you all the very best 👌👍👏🌟🌱. Be great to know how you are doing at some point👍😊.

J B I should probably have said “they won’t eat this way” rather than “rabidly anti-vegetable”; poor word choice. They DO encourage me to eat this way, but they refuse to join me. While I eat my rice, beans, corn, potatoes, etc. I’m watching them eat all the things I still miss...like burgers and pizza with REAL cheese. I like the Impossible/Beyond meats, but again - vegan junk food. Delicious but not remotely healthy. I have yet to find a decent cheese substitute, but again vegan junk food.

Love the hair too!! The milkshake reminds me of one of my fav summer treats. I freeze unpeeled bananas when they start to get mushy. When frozen I peel, cut into chunks and dip halfway in melted dark chocolate chips that I melt in a small glass jar so the chocolate is deep enough to cover about half the banana chunk Then refreeze on wax paper. So good and refreshing and for as stupidly simple as it is, one if the best desserts I have ever eaten!!!! I have been known to eat all of a banana this way before it can be placed in a freezer container. If you are able to resist though, these make a great treat after working outside or when craving chocolate.

The "How many beans are bad for you" question probably is refering to the lectins in beans. Some diet doctors, e.g., Steven Gundry, have stated that beans are bad due to lectins. However others have pointed out that the amount of lectins in cooked beans is negligible. All you have to do is make sure you use canned beans or well-cooked dry beans.
@KrocksInTheKitchen4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that was the conclusion I came to as well. I appreciated Dr. Gundry's insights but I believe his conclusions to be wrong in a lot of ways. 🙂
