Does anyone in the UK own a dining room table? I don't think I've EVER seen a single person on this show eating at a table. Part of the problem may be mindless eating in front of the television

@heatherfromcheshire73925 жыл бұрын
Of course most of us do, but I've known a lot of people who just ate dinner whenever they wanted either in front of TV together, or alone, or in their rooms... and frankly this mindless shoving down of food is what's contributing to the obesity crisis. We were allowed to eat dinner on a Saturday in front of our favourite TV show, but only if we'd been good, and my parents got a takeaway as their weekly treat once we were in bed. None of us were even remotely pudgy.
@eleanormason26475 жыл бұрын
Unless you have a dining room, most people have a small table in the kitchen and quite often things get left on there so it's a choice of clean up the table or go into the front room and eat it off your lap 😄 it depends really, but I think it comes from the fact that houses are a lot smaller here generally unless they're a really pricey house
@JanesArt015 жыл бұрын
@@eleanormason2647 on my mother side we never had a dining room but we still took the time to clean up the table in order to sit together to eat (although we opened the tv so it wasn't ideal) I guess it just depends on the household and laziness level. It took us like two minute to clean up the table each day, while if we didn't cleaned it up things would get accumulated (like it does in my personal appartment haha)

Some people aren’t secretly eating, they simply don’t have a general idea what is a calorie. Today I held a caramel pudding and asked my husband to guess how many calories in that 200g pudding, he answered: 20?
@leporellothegoldfinch8 ай бұрын
I don't understand how people can NOT know the calorie content of common food items. I mean, it's literally on the packaging?? You'd read that at some point even if you're only subconsciously glancing at it, no? It baffles me.
@sarahloveless17266 ай бұрын
A caramel dessert for 20 calories?🤨 Yeeeaaahhh maybe it's because I've been calorie counting on and off for a while but the only way that's happening is if you only take *a* bite. How much was is? Imma be nice and say 300.
@anjakeller66124 ай бұрын
My husband was gaining weight, it was puzzling to him. So i asked him to take me through his day, it turns out he ate 2 packets of salted cashews (200g each) and a packet of dried mangoes (200g) pretty much each day as a snack while working or gaming. He thought only sweets are high in calories, and healthy foods such as nuts or fruit are automatically also low-calory. Aaah, to be a cis-man and not crippled by society with calory counting as soon as puberty starts, that's the life ;-)

Right. A lot of people don't understand that they need to get their heart pumping fast DAILY. Or at the very least 3 to 5 times a week. Otherwise even eating healthy overtime you will still add weight especially if you aren't eating the same things everyday. From all the episodes of Secret Eaters I have watched so far, one thing is clear: munching and snacking between meals is our biggest enemy. Some of these participants are still eating kind of healthy during meals, but then are following up with all sorts of rubbish. People fail to register these as food and then keep guessing why the pounds are piling up. We should stop snacking between meals altogether (if possible) or just stick to carrots, celery, nuts and berries.

I live in France and this is exactly what we do. We don't eat between meals, there's great social stigma associated with snacking. Almost every single food advertisement poster contains a disclaimer: "For the sake of your health, do not snack between meals."
@pdruiz20058 ай бұрын
I snack all the time. But I keep it strictly to fruits. Bananas, apples, oranges, grapes. It helps tremendously. Still pretty thin, thought it helps with the muscle-building as I lift weights 4x to 5x a week. Then once a day I eat a bit of candy to control the cravings for sugary stuff, usually when I’m back from work and before workouts, when I want to unwind. Gummy candies are great because they’re small and if you eat 1/4 of a bag you’re good with calories, at between 150 and 200. A bag should last you four days, not one sitting like I constantly see on this show.

You're not supposed to weigh on carpets/rugs as it's not accurate. Need to use a solid floor!
@thankyouverymuch3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's been their problem all this time. They're not 100lbs overweight, they've just been weighing themselves on the wrong kind of floor. 🤦
@katurahreeve13793 жыл бұрын
@@thankyouverymuch It's not that it isn't obvious they're overweight (I never claimed that), but you should be aiming to get accurate measurements - that's all I was highlighting. Weighing on carpet can make you heavier/lighter than the actual truth, and by a significant amount in either direction because there's not a firm base on which to depress the scales - it's cushioned.
@julianmuller7663 жыл бұрын
@@thankyouverymuch You seem to have missed the point. Initial weigh-in was on solid ground. Final weigh-in was on a rug (and looks to have been purposefully done). Weighing on a soft surface can often lead to a lower reading, giving the illusion of the item/person being lighter than they are. With this in mind, it is highly likely that these two didn't lose as much as is claimed. I somewhat suspect that the producers purposefuuly get them to do the final weigh-in on carpet to exaggerate the weight loss. I've seen the exact same thing on a couple of other episodes.

When people say "I'm eating what my friends are eating" that isn't true now is it. Obviously, they are not. They ate what you ate for that one day, but then they go to the gym, hold off on dinner that day because they are still full from before, maybe skip breakfast too, light lunch, low-fat dinner. At 14:42. I see where his problem is--Mittal craves soft, runny foods. I've been experimenting with my healthy cooking lately. It's turned out very dry a lot of the time and it's unappetizing if you do it for the long haul. So many recipes ask for huge gobs of oil or butter. What I've belatedly discovered is that water is a wonderful substitute. Just add water at certain points of the cooking process and let things get reduced. The end product is just as soft and runny as if you've added oil or butter. I am soooo happy I discovered this. It's made my healthy foods a million times better! Right now I'm just wolfing down this Afghani concoction that asked for lots of oil. I replaced the oil with water and it turned out JUST AS GOOD! The same with chicken fried on a skillet--water does the trick of keeping it nice, supple and juicy! :D

Mostly south east Asian culture thinks it's women job to cook and care for man, even highly educated ones as well. In case of satya nadela her doctor wive had to do it on her own expanse. So, watching this mittal if you ever read this "RESPECT", the way you treated your woman is a bar. I didn't see any ounce of fakeness. They were not pretentious but rather sooo innocent. Mittal had Bally sago vibes going on, for hetal I have no comparison for Bollywood actress but she is beautiful. Her eyes are gorgeous as well, so soft spoken both of them.

Aubrey Danity Hey 👋 hope you’re doing well? No, not anymore. Honestly iv realized its all mental. Well, about 80% of it was mental. I had to sit down with myself and be truthful about my weight. You can only deceive yourself for so long. I took baby steps. First, by walking 30 minutes a day. Also, drinking alot of water, and green tea. I cut out junk food for 2 weeks completely then , treated myself once a week. I still eat junk food now, but nowhere near the portion sizes as I used to. I am also alot more physically active. For example every day I walk for about 5 miles, whilst listening to a podcast or some music. But first things first, take baby steps, its a daunting thing, but overcome the mental anguish which takes over the best of us. Any other questions feel free to reply.
