How to use a test light.
Using a test light is a simple and easy solution on finding which wire is the positive turn signal wire on your vehicle wire harness. This applies to all make model and trim. If your vehicle has 3 wires for the front turn signal wire harness. One will be ground, One will be + parking and the other + turn signal. Simple use a test light to determine which wire is which. If you are installed resistors, you simple attach the resistor the the positive turn signal wire and the ground wire.

Usually the lighter colored wire is neutral. Many times it's a green wire with a white stripe while the brown is the ground.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. I have a box truck. The turn signal is ok when the marker lights and head lights are off but when they are on the turn signal dosent work on one side.

Question, is it possible to tap into the wiring to add auxiliary turn signals AND parking lights? Would there be a way I could make my auxiliary lights as both?

Can these testers feel the voltage if you touch the part of wire that is covered? Or you can only touch the metal part of the wire? For example if the part you touched would not give you a positive (turn signal not working) you wouod wabt to go testing down the wire somehow. And if there are no connectors, could you simply touch the wire that is covered?

Does this test pertain to the back blinker lights also? My husband has been trying to see if it's a wire issue that causes our blinker light to stay off. He replaced the light and checked all fuses.

Hey there quick question. I want to wire my halo headlights into my turn signal bulb wiring like shown in the video. Mine has 3 wires a ground red and then a green and then my halos have just a red and black. So ground to ground obviously but if I wanted my halos to flash when I use my blinkers but also be on when I just have my parking lights on am I able to wire it into the green wire used for flashing the bulb or will it then turn off once I stop using my blinker and it can it only be one or the other?

It doesn't have to be connected to the battery. It just needs to be grounded. You can connect to any grounding point on the vehicle.

@@DIYCarModz In other words, if you're testing your rear brake lights, you can just put the negative on the frame or and clean piece of metal.

Parking do you mean the amber lights. I am installing led lights on my jeep.

parking lights are the lights that turn on with 1 click on the headlight switch. Usually, it will be the taillights, license plate light, corner lights, sidemarkers.
