hey laura, can you do a video where you show how to start a flower bed from the ground up? I think itd be great to see if you till the ground, or what you use to amend the soil. normally your videos show you just plop them into the ground and everything is gravy, which i know you have great soil in most of the locations. but im dealing with clay like soil, and everything ive planted is dying.

Maybe having a Q&A video at the end of each month, almost like a review of the month would work. It might be able to streamline questions and not let you feel overwhelmed if there are tons. Thank you for doing another Q&A video, they are some of my favorites!

Not sure how I missed this one when it was new, but it is always a bonus to find another to watch. Aw, Dexter. Your video where you announced the sad news about him showed up again in my feed yesterday and I just couldn't watch it again. But, now it is nice to go back to happier vids featuring him. Distant Drums...so many roses so little deer proof fencing, lol. To think for the first 3 1/2 decades of my gardening life I didn't have to worry about deer...I didn't appreciate what a good thing that was until I moved here where even my roses behind the fencing get their buds chopped off the deer can stretch over to get them.

Oh please do a video on David Austin roses!! Maybe a tour of some of your favorite varieties in your garden center and tips on planting and caring for them. As well as feedback from the plants that you have sold and how your customers have done with them. I recently got a Lady Shallot David Austin rose for my zone 5 home. I am absolutely in love with it and also terrified that I won't keep it healthy . Thank you for all your amazing videos and inspirations!

Vinegar, although probably "better" than the name brands we all know, I'd still consider it a chemical. It's basically acid diluted a little bit with water. I'd prefer it too, so I am not knocking that. But it's still a chemical you wouldn't want a child playing with. That being said, I'm with Laura.. I hand weed the beds but the driveway and other hard surfaces sometimes need a boost from a chemical.

I would LOVE to see a video on how to create a planting area from an old outdated area. Specifically, how to create an edge and make the bed "official". Hope that makes sense. I did watch you create the corner spot at your in-laws and it helped tremendously. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the videos.

Julie: I have spent the last year or two removing annoying spots in my lawn. Spots that just are hard to keep happy, for one reason or another. It gets easier, with each bit. I remove the lawn, and add planting beds. I'd rather see bees and butterflies enjoying the space instead of sad grass in those tough spots. Anyway, I'd say just stake it out. Go get some wood stakes at HD, and stake it out. If you don't like it, move it around. And if in doubt, make it a little smaller than you think you want. As you can adjust after. :-) Once you're good, make it "official". Just go for it! Your yard, your vision.. make it happen.

I've been wanting to try other plants but I just can't use the plants that you usually feature on your videos. I have ordered bare root roses from the US David Austin website and they are awesome packagers. All the roses I have purchased from them have arrived healthy, in great condition and live on to be fabulous! Don't be afraid to order from the website. What is also great is, on the website you can find attributes of roses that suit your area or wants. Like cold hardy, extreme disease resistance, excellent reblooming etc. They will send you new catalogs each year to see what they have recently developed and released, which is fun. It comes in January, about the time you are really needed some floral eye candy!

Loved this video. Glad to know I'm not doing something wrong spending so much time weeding. :D :D :D ponytail. I just thought you left your hair down to look nice on camera. Being inspired by many of your other videos, I redid a few flower beds that had almost completely died out during our freak winter storm in Feb 2021 in Texas. Also did a few containers. I was always scared of fertilizer and was also quite skeptical as to whether fertilizer really did make a huge difference. If you could talk about frequency of the hose and if you add any drips to trees/large shrubs, I'd be very grateful! I think I put too much in when I did my section. I'm watching it closely so I can pull some out of needed. It would be awesome to see what you do before adding it to other sections of my garden!

I love your videos. A few things will work here but I live in high mountain desert in New Mexico. 6800 ft elevation at the foot of a tall mountain with Forrests of big lush trees. I'm in desert. We do get summer rains. Hard cloud burst or even hail. the past two weeks have been near 100f on the daytime and 50-60f at night. that's right at record weather for here. no usually summers in the 80s and night upper 40s to mid 50s at night. most years its hard to get a long enough hot time to raise tomatoes without a greenhouse or hotbed at least. We had snow in Late May this year. Usually snow and frost is over by the first or second week of April. Frost returns in September and snow by October 31st. It makes a crazy growing season but I always try to have a garden and flowers for as much of the season as possible. your videos are inspiring.

I was so excited to hear, you, Laura say you love David Austin roses! , In So CA one of the best resources for them them is Ottos and Sons, in Filmore, . CA. North of San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita. Over 100,000 roses. if you're an Austin Addict, like me, they carry those allowed for sale in the US. And David Austin online, use the United States Version. they can send own root or bare root. my absolute favorite ever. I have over 30+ varieties. I cannot help myself.

Jill Spady Possesed rose growers will go to a wedding and cut some stems off the brides bouquet or on the decor vases. Respectful rosarians will not. Although they might ask a gardener for some stem cutting from a non licensed variety. It’s like software stealing or copying artists art or bootlegging movies. I love Austins sturdy stems for holding up big honkin blooms. Some blooms, even the company recommends some support- maybe stand out there when company comes and hold the heads up? Old crutches? Dime a dozen at charity stores.

Laura, after seeing the Green Stalk tower on your channel I just *had* to have one❣I absolutely *love* mine. I bought the brown/tan color. I have it half way planted now with herbs, various peppers, tomatoes, and some flowers. Can't wait til it's full!

You're so good at this. Loved the Q&A! Great way to address questions, since I often don't have a chance to sift through all the comments and find out your thoughts and answers. Thank you for doing this!

I order David Austin online from David Austin website. They come bare root, at the end of April and it works great.

Depending on your conditions, zone, etc, we must have own root roses. Austin has some, but North Country Roses growers carry Austins on their own roots. Also, Heirloom.

For ordering roses online, I like Heirloom Roses in Oregon. Here in southern NH own root roses are my preference. A few weeks ago I visited Peter Beales rose garden in Attleborough Norfolk England - beautiful. I can't find his roses here in the states. Churchill and Queens Jubilee are beyond gorgeous.

I know it has nothing to do w your channel but I'd LOVE to know how you actually style your hair! I'm horrible at these sort of things and I just adore your style! It would be such a life changing thing to know how to achieve such a put together look all the time.

@Garden Answers the supertunia black cherry are a relatively cooler red - they do lean towards blue on the color chart as opposed to leaning toward yellow. I'm same as you... love those cooler tones.

Hello Laura and Erin & Ben! Any chance you will do a video on winterizing your drip irrigation system? We are in North Idaho and adding dripline has been so helpful-- I would have never tried it if I didn't have your fabulous videos coaching me along! Thank you so much!
