@@aakashsunil7913 he suffered a minor stroke during it cos of the emence pressure on his blood system of lifting half a tonne. When they manage to lift a big deadlift they should definately slam it down as fast they see the referee give the down signal, but as ego has it many like to look around for some seconds and boast over their achievements. that could be fatal as for every second they have this lethal blood pressure on thier body a vein could pop and ur dead. Eddies eplanation to how he mentally made himself to use way more than normal strength, his blackout when he grabbed the bar and coming back to after getting it up makes it even more hard to be wise and not hold it unnececary long. he went out of his mind to do this ;)

Yeah. Eddie had to work at becoming great a lot more than most of the other elite guys (in my opinion). He doesn't have the frame to carry 400lbs of mass in the same way Brian does. Therefor, I imagine that it was a lot more taxing of Eddie's heart and organs to carry all of that body weight. I am a much bigger fan of Brian...but you can't not respect Eddie's accomplishments.

@Mike given the percentages he cited can't be true. Let's say a mother normally uses 50% of her muscle fibers, then that means she can lift twice the mass by using 100% in a situation of stress. But I don't think your average mom lifts 200 kg's, so even at 100% she won't outperform Eddie or Brian.

I love the talk about the psychology of the lift and creating a mental scenario. I was a sprinter on a bike racing team which also requires a massive explosion of power (after 4 hours on the bike). I tell people all the time that you find either those memories that enrage you, or frightened you, and you re-capture that feeling. Immerse yourself fully back to that moment. For me it was rage at being bullied. As the the 400 meters would hit I'd envision and recapture that hurt and rage and then at 150 meters I'd unleash it into the pedals. People would ask me all the time where I got the power from. I used to say, "It's a controlled form of insanity." I get to that brink and then unleash. Love watching both you guys. My two favorite strongmen and you happen to be friends. To cool.
