Isaiah should be brother of the year he is so awesome with her

My 3 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with autism. My husband wasn't happy to say the least, & he was quite upset, and worried. I myself was a little upset as well, not angry, but a bit worried for her future as she is not talking and not at the right level developmentally. These videos bring me a lot of comfort. Your family is so caring and you guys are extremely lucky to have that. 💗

After hearing lots of mis - information re: aba therapy (ie electric shocks, being fully restrained in straight jackets, no stimming allowed, mouth gags being used etc ) it was lovely to see how abbey used real aba therapy and how it's helped her to communicate and much more, but also that she can still stim. So thanks for the education, ( like to think i know everything, evidently not, lol) love to learn more as i kno that stimming is usually the thing that reboots and calms me so is a daily essential.

Haha! Abigail loves Twentytrucks too! My 5 year old with HFA and his twin brothers LOVE them, they are based in AZ and local to us! The twins are 2.5 and go to sleep listening to truck songs at night. They are a family based channel and a dad who created this for his kids, so be sure to support them too. See what she thinks of the new aircraft deicer one, the boys love that. I am a big fan of your channel and your openness and perseverance as autism parents. We also did our local surfing for autism event for the first time yesterday and it was amazing!

I was diagnosed with aspergers and I actually am glad they got rid of the term because I got made fun of a lot as a kid because of what the name sounds like.
@docteurshepherd7 жыл бұрын
But yeah that’s something to think about, plus nobody took it seriously, again.. the name. So yeah I do like being able to say high functioning autism instead of aspergers now.

I'm from Spain so you do have an international audience and not only from Australia or the UK. I'm curious about one thing, you said that Maverick needs more training because Abbie's needs had changed, but what are you gonna train him for? I mean, before, he would help you so that Abigail didn't elope, but now? What would be his new purpose? I found it kind of funny when you brought Abbie, because you were like "Say hi" and she looked like she was just thinking "I was sleeping, I wanna go back to sleep..."
@sofiastons45897 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply. I already knew that but I thought that maybe they were training him to help her with meltdowns or something like that.

Isaiah I had to read the book The Things They Carried in my Comp 2 class in college it’s a great book our instructor actually landed us an opportunity to meet Tim O’Brian so that was awesome as a bonus he signed my book I should definitely reread it! I recommend the book I Can Only Imagine by Bart Millard awesome book I knew MM before they was famous, so I knew some history but to get a more detailed background is awesome

Hey! I am new here and I saw some of your videos and I like you guys so much 💗💗💗 you are so inspiring! Also, i had a suggestion for abbie's bedroom to make her morning routine so easy for her! It's really not an ad, i just like this product so much : but it's called Beddy's. It is a set of cheat that you can just zip and your bed is done! Maybe it could be helpful? Check it up online, it is a bit pricey but yeah! So Let me know and good night 😘

As I just commented to Charmander, autism services are SO different in every state. I don't know what a med waiver is. Are you saying you didn't have any state funded therapies for 7 years?! I'd love to see a video about the process of obtaining services, I also have a friend who just moved to FL and is starting that process for her daughter.

I have recently come across your channel and I love how informative you guys are. My son is 3 1/2 years old and was diagnosed with autism by his neurologist a month ago. There are so many things that we know and don't know from our research but we have no idea what our next step should be. We are still waiting to hear back from a developmental pediatrician but in the meantime, what should we do next?
@betsynorris72887 жыл бұрын
Services and things are so different in every state, I would say get connected with your local autism parent's group, autism society, etc. They will help guide you. If there is a therapy you feel will benefit your child immediately before services can be established through the state, consider private paying or going through your private insurance. And do not settle, keep looking until you find someone who connects with you and your child.
