What a fantastic video. I already can't wait for Part 2. This one is filled with such good information and inspiration. What a profound conversation between two pairs of people who are truly changing lives. I have admired Ray and Julieanna's work for a while and appreciated the opportunity this video provided to get to know them more as people - in terms of their productivity habits/timelines, their shopping and cooking routines, etc - and not only as the experts they are. They are both so articulate and empowering.

Just found your channel a week ago. Started WPBF diet about 10 days ago. I'm still learning, but I'm down a little on the scale and am pretty sure body aches are less. Jessica your beauty glows and you look so much younger and healthier than on the shopping trip in your first video. Bryan, your face beams. Interesting interview. Thank you. I am familiar with Julianna but not Ray. I won't be adding oil to my food though. Not after two years of no oil and a family history of heart disease. Perhaps if I was younger, had changed my diet sooner or really missed oil, I might consider adding oil now but I don't miss it one bit so from my point of view there is no point adding it. 😁

@@ellen3093 As far as I understood it, Ray recommends it for flavouring dishes at the end of cooking only. Not for cooking food, just flavouring but as I said, why add something you don't miss? I occasionally do end up eating oil if I eat out but that is pretty rare and I don't enjoy it.

@@ellen3093 He mentions to use a 1/2 teaspoon of toasted sesame oil for taste since it's so pungent, IF YOU WANT, on like 2 recipes.....not everyday, not every meal..."not pour it all over". There’s a psychoanalytic aspect to this conversation that’s missing. Many of us have turned to food as an addiction for our problems. Thanks to CrayRay, Penn, you guys and DDPYoga I’ve lost 70 lbs in the last year but like Jessica I’ve had my moments where I’ll go off the rails for 2-3 days. Until I mentally get right with whatever causes me to go to the junk food then I don’t think I’ll ever completely get away from food and the amount that causes me to become more obese.

In late 2017, Ray Cronise took/scammed over $88,000 (yes that's THOUSAND) dollars from Kickstarter backers for a book called "Our Broken Plate." Then he dropped off the face of the earth and gave no updates, no responses, nothing, to his backers. Basically took the $$ and went AWOL in a big way. This is what the latest Reddit commenter had to say (4 days ago), and I agree: "We're coming up on two years since Ray's last update...telling us there's no excuse for his silence. Meanwhile he's written and distributed two different books, bypassing this project entirely. No offer of compensation; no visible effort to get this book released. And quite frankly I'm no longer interested in what he's written or has to say about the matter as he's lost all credibility with me. If he can't show minimal human decency by keeping his financial backers up-to-date on the project then what he's written doesn't even matter at this point." Ray's behavior leaves a very bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended.

Thanks for interviewing them. Always good to hear science behind what we are doing. With that said, I didn’t hear any “science” behind using oil for culinary reasons. Seems Science says oil reduces elasticity of our arteries for several hours after eating it according to Dr Esstylsen. Didn’t hear anything about that in this interview. Not sure I’m ready or should add oil for culinary purposes cause, afterall, aren’t we eating to help our health over and above taste? With that said, I am always looking for tasty recipes and I am sure they have some good ones!

I get the oil thing. And he gave a really great explanation of when and how it’s appropriate However- I do best with NO added oils. I really plateaued for many months when I had not let go of oil. Also, yes culinary techniques are fun- I 100% agree with this idea. I literally eat at restaurants enough and I’m fully aware of the oil that I’m consuming regularly even if I’m not eating oil at home. One more point on oil- maybe two, heart drs will say ZERO oil, and weight loss the fat you eat is the fat you wear. Ahhh okay LAST point on oil, EVERYTHING has oil. Extracting it and separating it from the whole part never works out in nature. God creates these things as a whole for a reason. I’m not even for CBD oil bc of that reasoning. Okay thanks!! Hahaha

Ok that is great one likes to cook and one likes to go grocery shopping. I hate grocery shopping, always have and I don't like cooking but I do it obviously. Any suggestions? My husband's idea of cooking is pre-packaged or take out.

Wondering why grains are not one of the six 3’s?

At about 1:09:40 she mentions lots of great things about grains, but that they are "not unique nutritionally" so you add them into your diet after you've prioritized the other 5 categories that are "unique" nutritionally.

I’m struggling so much. I have been trying to eat plant based for over 3 years and I seem to do perfectly is fail. But I don’t quit. I keep trying. I’m a foodie. With multiple health problems. And I need to lose 60 pounds. The problem is that I struggle to feel like I’m enjoying plant based food. I hate sweet potatos and kale and I feel like I make a recipe and end up throwing it away because I hate it. I just can’t seem to find food that I really enjoy so I fail over and over. Any advice on how to get the taste buds to change and adapt to the healthy stuff?

Sorry - Last time I wrote that Mary Giuliani kept off around 160 lbs for more than 10 years or so, but I forgot about her saying she had weight loss surgery. So, I think it was misleading, because if someone manages to maintain a huge weight loss for that many years, that is a lot more impressive if it's done without surgery than it is with surgery. I don't know if she had stomach stapling or a gastric band or what. Her website does have helpful info about ACEs and the book by Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk "The Body Keeps the Score".

Moondog not really because if you look at statistics most people regain 50% of what the loose in the 1st year after weight loss surgery and some go in for a second one. I’ve seen a few people lately struggle after that 1st year

@@annah5432 I've heard the host of Curvy Shrine say that it is possible to gain weight and re-strech your stomach after the stomach-reducing surgery, but I assumed it was a rare event. Can you give me some examples? Show me some videos or websites that show a person gained weight after this surgery.

Moondog www.melbweightloss.com.au/sleeve-gastrectomy-background.html If you read down this page it says it is a tool and you need to do dietary changes and list foods you cannot have, if you go back to old eating habits you can stretch it. Then in disadvantages it says that the sleeve will slowly get bigger over time. They also offer a revision surgery option. It is not a quick easy fix for life, you still need to change the habits of a lifetime. I used to think it was but after reading a bit and seeing some people get it I realise it isn’t.

The hardest thing I had is that every recipe in most plant based books called for such different ingredients, many ingredients that were foreign and even tamari---most cookbooks were impossible. I just like down to earth, not like a professional cook would do, and getting an ingredient for one recipe and never used again. It did not help me get very plant based.
