I've only the bookshelf Qs so I went for the B12 for bass as they need all the help they can get! It has exact same interface as this.

Always impressed with Q Acoustics visual design. They also have that nice flap to cover up the subwoofer gubbins. Not seen that on other brands.

Hi there, i purchased this sub myself. It is very musically gifted. How is the sub for you now. Is it still producing good bass? I prefered to have the levels set at the 2pm position. Unfortunately with just 6 films put through it and some hours listening to music, a nasty rattle has set in. Ive sent it off to be repaired. Diagnosis is yet to be offered. To my tastes, i do not believe i had overdriven the speaker. It is concerning concidering this sub is designed to sit with the 2 different 3000 series 5.1 speaker package, there for should handle a good workload.. I also use a 2 channel amp, with my player handling the decoding.

Do you know the difference between this and the 7060s model? Specs seems to be pretty much identical
@UTILITARIANTVUK Жыл бұрын
The only difference is the cabinet. The 7060s is matched with the 7000 series.

When you say you turned the volume all the way, does that mean you put the subwooder on max?(at 10 out of 10)
@terrykemp8131 Жыл бұрын
Martin. Has it made a big enough difference to you existing audio set up and is it good enough to keep.? Perhaps putting the sub further away from the towers may improve the sound.
@UTILITARIANTVUK Жыл бұрын
I recently swapped out the speakers for bookshelves and it sounds way better. It could be that the amp is sending too much bass to the towers?
@harrykain285 Жыл бұрын
Did you try switching the phase while paired with the towers?also placing the sub in different areas of the room,subs rarely sound they're best placed right beside a tower speaker,just a suggestion.
@UTILITARIANTVUK Жыл бұрын
@@harrykain285 Yeah, tried moving the sub and switching the phase. It probably would've helped if my amp had a high pass filter for the main speakers.
@billybobby7607 Жыл бұрын
@@UTILITARIANTVUK you may need to use bass management/ high pass. That will help. Means speaking just receiving the frequency they can handle and adjust crossover for room boom, then bring in sub to help. Big speakers in a small room reproducing LF plus a sub can be a disaster
@billybobby7607 Жыл бұрын
@@harrykain285 needs adjustable phase. Switch isn't good enough, need to get them time aligned. Plus subwoofer EQ is important

Hi mate love the shorts look hope you had the heater on anyway I hve just bought the rega elex r for my lintons sounds great a little cheaper than the leak 230 The elex r is purely analogue. I still have the leak 130 the rega is more suitable. Cheers

I wonder if the voices sound better because the crossover to sub means speakers doing less work means better definition in mids?
@kevinsheppard6085 Жыл бұрын
Your spot on with that, the woofers on the towers are doing less than normal so appear much more clear.
@ChickensinHighDef Жыл бұрын
I've had that experience after adding a sub. And my sub is not anything special at all.
@billybobby7607 Жыл бұрын
@@kevinsheppard6085 no they don't be doing less. If he's sending full range they're doing the exact same thing . Stereo amps do nothing to the signal to the mains Only way would be to use a AVR. That will perform bass management m

My Q-acoustics subwoofer rests on 4 toilet rolls. I had to do this as it's a wooden floor and the subwoofer is next to a drinks cabinet. You can imagine - as in shakin' all over. Unsurprisingly, the vibrating cabinet and the clinking of drinking glasses didn't add to my music enjoyment. So someone suggested loo rolls. Problem solved.

Honestly, thats too small and weak of a sub to pair well with the big Oberons. A small sub like that would do wonders for a bookshelf though, especially when you high pass the speakers
@UTILITARIANTVUK Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, paired it with some bookshelves and it sounded way better. The Marantz NR1200 doesn't have a high pass filter which probably compounded the issue with the Dali's.
