Mary does have a dad seen in Imagination Forest! We just don’t know much about him or how he met Shion- and since we know Mary is over 100 years old it’s pretty safe to assume he’s not around anymore :(

Because in the past, humans attacked her family and drove her grandmother away. Her mother is scared that she'll be hurt if she goes outside, but she plans to show Marry the wonderful side of the world when she's old enough to defend herself.
