I’ve only needed it in a few situations one of which was hunting on public land transitioning from a no load zone back to hunting land and instead of releasing the bolt and making a bunch of noise I would prefer being able to slowly release the bolt and send it home with a forward assist.

I have a Nomad for 300 BLK, but they way Dead Air mishandled the S5 debacle wasn't confidence-inspiring. Would definitely consider a short chop for 8.6BLK build now. Dead Air hasn't been making any product videos either. They were super informative.

That's why I'm curious what the variable is. Using the current formula of: K.E. = 1/2 m v2, the claim of "a 160-grain 8.6 supersonic load out of a 16-inch barrel will deliver a muzzle velocity of 2,400 feet per second" means it is producing less muzzle energy than a 168gr 308 from a 20" barrel. All I'm asking for is the formula used, because at face value, the claim of "an 8.6 fired through a fast-twist 12-inch barrel would have more muzzle energy than a .308 out of a 20-inch slow-twist barrel" as quoted from the Free Range American article on 8.6blk is not able to be proven. The variable for rV (rotational velocity) is needed to prove such.
