Her screams were hunting, that water was rising fast... He casually goes to help her. The women looks under five feet tall, she was stuck and panicked. Thank God he rescue her in time and saved her life. Also he was tall and strong enough to carry her to safety... Then he causally goes back to reporting the weather... What a hero!!!

The water came into the floorboard and the car felt like it was floating. I immediately got in a panic state ( life in danger 😆😅😂) then calmed down and shortly after got to work. I can relate to her panicking 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

Very nice thing he did for that lady but he has no obligation to go get her. He did the right thing by calling for help. Problem is people who are at risk of drowning panic. A lot of times they end up pulling down the person trying to rescue them. Luckily, the water wasn’t so deep he could stand.

I appreciate the guy wholeheartedly for accessing the situation, his capability, and risk to both himself and her knowing emergency services more than likely was not going to make it to them vs. calling emergency services, and continuing shouting services are on the way while the water was still low, or saying I have no obligation besides you may drown me also to only report live at the scene a woman drowned while shouting for help. Some things are humanely a no-brainer regardless of what one should do. 🤷🏽♀️ The world could use more mindsets like this reporter ♥️

@@STManning yeah I get what you are saying. I think what people fail to realize is most people are not hero’s. Go look at any disaster or emergency situation and you will see the vast majority of people running away. It’s fight or flight which is a natural response. If this man would have just stood there and waited for emergency services I would not have faulted him. I myself am no hero and outside my family (wife, children, mother) I am not going to risk my life to save a stranger. I will call for help and let the professionals deal with it. Does this make me a bad person? I don’t think so but others may have a different opinion. Anyway, I know I went kind of deep on this but I think the general public just has this idea everyone has this inner hero in them. I just don’t think that is the case and it shouldn’t be looked down on.

I had never seen a snake before and when I nearly stepped on one my body turned into Usain bolt. I stopped running after a few seconds and my brain started working again. It was as if something primal took control of my body and made it run away...I had no say in the matter 😊

It's called the FREEZE response, and people who have never had their brain shut down into survival mode, where it cuts off access to the prefrontal cortex, and all you think about is survival...even when you are trying to think about other things...will just never understand. It is exceptionally difficult to override fight, flight, freeze, fawn response.

A bug when I was a child paralyzed me. It is one of the worst feelings because your brain tells you to move/ run but you can’t. Best way I can explain it is someone saying 1..2..3.. GO! But you don’t. You just stand there, but in this case because fear has overtaken you.

Wow, great rescue! And he was very humble about it. You’d think that lady would get out and walk to safety but she was probably in shock. Guy saved her life!

She may not have been able to swim and being so tiny would have made walking to safety almost impossible due to currents and the height of the water.

@@serenepeacefulrelaxingmusi3874 Initially, the water was not that deep. You can clearly see that. She could have gotten out and walked through the water. then but she was obviously freaking out in shock. By the time the reporter got to her the water was much deeper.

@@CanadianDrifter777 A mere thirteen centimeters of water can knock a human off their feet-depth is much less important than speed. Yes, the woman seemed to be freaking out, but she's also small; her lack of mass could have gotten her swept away and drowned if she'd left her car without knowing the speed of the water or how to swim (and even knowing both of those doesn't guarantee survival). Staying in her car so she didn't get in a worse situation and making sure anyone passing by knew someone in the area needed help was the best and safest thing to do. Even staying buckled in was the best option, in case the car was dislodged and carried off (although if the water had risen too much higher she would have had an unfortunate decision to make).

So according to you she’s supposed to just stay in her car and put on the seatbelt as she’s in shock? And wait for Fire rescue or a reporter to save her life? And not risk walking out herself because of “her lack of body mass” and the “ mere 13cm of water?” Riighhttt. You’re coping way too hard on this.

@@CanadianDrifter777 There was an instance on World's Deadliest Weather where the water was shin height, but the velocity was so great that a Tow Cable was used by the Tow Truck Driver as an improvised safety line to reach the stranded person without getting washed away.
