Dr.Sen says the growth rate is "Not Bad at all" because it is catching up with reality. But how can catching up with reality be good news, when reality itself is bad? That statement seems to be conveying a misleading interpretation of the overall situation of the economy. Its in the last few min of the interview that the crux of the problem was stated - that the govt needs to mend its ways for the economy to grow faster. That has been the point of the opposition, civil society and any independent observer other than "Hindutvawadi jingoists" all through the last decade. But then they get named "anti India" , "anti Hindu"

UPA was far from perfect, but at least we could criticize them and exert some level of influence through parliamentary processes. So, are you saying economy is back to normal 5 years after pandemic ? that itself means the government did nothing to recover, Western countries economics has been recovered in 2022. Oh, this consumption decline argument, it is very old, is it Demand or Supply creates growth ? You can argue that off corporate India create more supply the consumption will increase. If you are saying corporate India does not increase productivity and supply because consumption is low, you are saying that Capitalism doesnt necessarily create jobs, or growth. People cant consume , because it is inflation, and supply is less, how the heck you expect people to consume more so corporate India can increase productivity ? Oh, you also blaming RBI , because they are too focused on curbing inflation and not bothering about growth rate. So, what is it you want ? RBI let inflation go high, so growth will go high, and you expect consuer spending to go high ? How ? You are trying to argue all the freaking ways. There is no easy way, get over it. Modi morons have no clue what to do with economy, and corporate India is failure, because Adani Ambani Tata and other few shitty corporation monopolized India.
