How about Christmas Guest by Peter Swanson coming out October 17th?

Weird. I thought I put that on my Q3 list. Was it supposed to come out earlier?

Good question. I am not sure. Good Reads says October 17.

I love Jennifer McMahon - I like the dual timelines with one having a historical fiction vibe. My favorites were the Invited and the Winter People.

I didn’t love Winter People as much as a lot of people did, but I thought it was still good.

I am SOOO excited for Out There Screaming. I love Jordan Peele's movies, so I'm definitely reading that. Where he can't find you also sounds interesting, even though I don't really read YA

I’m definitely interested in Naomi Alderman’s new one! I have an arc from NetGalley and need to get on that! I’m so bad about reading those before the publish date 🙈

That premise on Nestlings reminds me of Rosemary's Baby! I'm looking forward to Last to Leave the Room by Caitlin Starling. It's about a scientist and things happened. I suspect it's gonna be suspenseful, weird and profound.

21:24 sounds like Active Denial System. It's a military thing... basically invisible borders that you can't cross because it feels like you're on fire. They use it for crowd control etc. Also this isn't something used in the future.. it's used now.

Edenville gets released 10/3. Don't remember the author or synopsis lol but I do remember that I wanted to read it. Others I've written down (think all horror) but not sure on release date: The Invisible World (ghost TV show) Find Him Where You Left Him Dead (Japanese jumanji) Cold, Black & Infinite (horror short stories) The Graveyard Shift (for fans of Sager & Hendrix) When Ghosts Call Us Home (about... ghosts) Let Him In (haunted house) Let the Woods Keep Our Bodies (missing person) Happy Reading 👻

I have a lot of these on myTBR list but I added The Future. A bit of a departure in genre for me but it sounds interesting! A book I am looking forward to is Good Girls Don’t Die by Christina Henry which is classified as thriller/horror and comes out in November. It sounds like it has a feminist perspective which I know you appreciate!

Hi, I was really struck by the beauty of "Motion Detection", a thriller book that I found by chance on Amz while looking for a new book. The cover intrigued me, it's an unusual book with a spectacular ending, I highly recommend it!

I am about halfway through Out There Screaming and I wanted more from of quite a few of them (as in they were so good I wanted full-length stories!) They were amazingly compelling and just immediately engaging. Where He Can't Find You was actually pretty freaky (in that way books can be super freaky before you find out what the Big Bad is--no matter what the author comes up with, it's just never as scary as it was when it was unknown, you know?) I feel like My Darling Girl is excellent cozy Christmas horror, and I enjoyed A Haunting On the Hill and the way that we got to experience Hill House's terrible corridor's again through contemporary eyes and modern sensibilities. I did find a many of the characters absolutely insufferable though, just a tiny warning. But I won't say more than that!

I’m so excited for Out There Screaming. I should have put that on my TBR for this month. Maybe I’ll have a chance to read it toward the end of the month. I did read A Haunting on the Hill in September, I didn’t really like it. But that’s just my opinion.

@@ReadingWryly ah! I must have missed where you talked about that one, But now I see it was in a recent reading vlog, so I will have a watch. I'm curious about your thoughts. Not that I'll try to change your mind - l"et people hate what they hate!" is my personal mantra, ha! I think...I was never not going to like it. The original Hill House is a favorite of mine, and I love Elizabeth Hand's writing, so even if it was an awful mess, I was never gonna see it like that:P
