As a G owner I'm enjoying even some of the Q specific content. straight to the point video, detailed, under 10 minutes, and still somewhat relates to the G. the little bit showing how you feel the torque transfer after install was a nice touch. it's probably the best way to describe that to someone who has never used a more solid mount compound - throttle is more connected to the car and therefore so is the driver.

Really hard to describe the feeling, but the difference can definitely be felt! Thanks for watching!

What was the difference you noticed when driving with the brace and the new bushing? Is the diff brace worth installing even after replacing the bushing?
@SpeedCultureStudios Жыл бұрын
The brace with the old bushing was quite noticeable. The brace with the new bushing set is much less noticeable. It’s not something that would stand out in daily driving but if you’re dig racing and have a good set of tires, the brace will be a nice addition.

@@SpeedCultureStudios Thanks for the feedback! Right now I have a failed diff bushing and will be replacing it very soon with the Z1. My rear suspension has been feeling very harass lately and I was wondering if that may be from the failed diff bushing. When I replace it would it soften up the rear going over bumps and uneven roads?
@videomaniac1088 ай бұрын
I wonder if replacing the rear diff bushing with a firmer polyurethane one would subject the softer rear subframe rubber bushings to more strain and shorten their lifetimes? Would adding the Z1 rear subframe bushing sleeves be a good move in also firming up the movement of the subframe?

Top shelf project & contribution to the community. Only thing missing was the before & after slips with 60 ft highlighted in yellow for all of us open diff sedan drivers lol. How do accelerations from say 60 to 90 feel now? Any more low frequency drone? I had high speed, low frequency drone in the old Z33 coupe with solid diff bushings.
@SpeedCultureStudios2 жыл бұрын
No weird noises, no vibration, no hum. I don't know what you mean by "any more." I had never experienced that so, I would say "still no. . ." lol. I mentioned in my LSD video that my dragy is not connecting to sats for some reason even after reinstall so I haven't been able to get any 0-60s yet. However, I would say this bushing set wouldn't have much impact on that for me as I have already done a temporary fix on my failed bushing which seemed to work. But even without it, I hadn't really experienced any reduction in performance. Any improvements in 0 - 60 from this point would have to be attributed to the LSD kit from traction concepts. Hopefully we can get some numbers soon!
@jacquesc31662 жыл бұрын
@@SpeedCultureStudios Copy on NVH, but by your own admission you grew up around dirt bikes and have a high tolerance for noise. Your SCS exhaust concept isn't drone-proof, so "any more" relates to baseline NVH vs. adding the diff crescendo huuuummmmmmmm that is typical of solid bushings between say 70 and 90. Screw dragys, go to the strip and have fun showing 60 ft times......
@SpeedCultureStudios2 жыл бұрын
@@jacquesc3166 Ah, I was confused by your “any more” phrasing. I wasn’t considering exhaust influence as the drone window is so small and not present at cruising rpm. Compared to solid mounts/bushings, this is absolutely silent. After another couple hundred miles since this video, however, I am noticing some slow speed flexing-like noises occasionally. I’ve had the car up in the air and rechecked all nuts and bolts and mounting points and all good, so I’d have to update and say that it is not completely noise free.

An automotive mechanic shop. Not a jiffy lube or anything.

Video of review with the diff installed? Really thinking of purchasing all the rear subframe components (sub frame bushings, diff bushings, diff brace) to make the rear more planted! I wonder how the diff brace with the diff bushing must operate, I’m assuming the difference would be there
@SpeedCultureStudios2 жыл бұрын
I'll install the diff brace shortly. I think now with these poly bushings the difference will be minimal, but I am anxious to see.

Badass I might get this soon for my car. What was your 60ft time after installing?
@SpeedCultureStudios Жыл бұрын
You probably wouldn’t see a measurable difference in a 60’ time unless you had some serious wheel hop or something. It may be a couple hundredths or less if anything. There are just so many other variables-tires, suspension, conditions etc.

after installing the BC coilovers did you have any dramatic negative camber?
@SpeedCultureStudios6 ай бұрын
Depends on the height you set it at. If you’re at stock height you’ll have stock camber. If you’re way lower, you’ll have quite a bit more negative. At 1.5” drop the car was still very close to factory alignment specs

I plan on buying a salvage title (only due to theft so no big deal) 2014 Q50 in mint condition and only at 90K miles and I've done plenty of research so far. Valve bodies and rear-differential bushing are top hits with these things. I'm so glad I came across your amazing videos on this as it makes me more confident with this purchase! Thank you for all your hard work! What exhaust do you run and have you done anything in regards to the transmission issues?
@SpeedCultureStudios3 ай бұрын
Nothing you can do for trans really, it’s a component failure that doesn’t appear to be mileage or maintenance related. The exhaust is my custom setup that has come to be known as the SCS Catback. If you search that you’ll find the details! Thanks!

Too many people are ready to give up drivability for performance. Unless it's a dedicated track car, leave some flex in your bushings. Especially if it's the vehicle you drive on weekends and to and from the track. Driver fatigue is a serious factor in accidents, and the more obnoxious your car is outside dedicated professional racing the more you're just looking to have slower times and less enjoyment.
@SpeedCultureStudios2 жыл бұрын
You certainly are not sacrificing drivability with this bushing kit. I would agree with you if you're referring to solid bushings, but there is plenty of energy and vibration absorption with this kit.

When you contacted z1 about their diff bushing removal tool, were they saying they don't recommend it in general? Or just for the Q series of cars? Am going to do this on my g37 and wouldn't want to cause any issues. Thanks!

I didn’t contact them about it. It’s in their video on the website. The removal tool is for the G/Z not the Q.
