Wow this was timely! My son has been asking to get Pokémon cards, I honestly don’t know a lot about them but I’ve had friends say that it’s connected to evil stuff and you’ll open doors, etc. I really love how you said letting the Holy Spirit who dwells in your child convict them rather than me restrict them. If I restrict it, it’ll make it bigger than it needs to be 🤯

Yes, and Christians can really make a huge deal out of nothing. My boys are devoted to the Lord and love to play Pokémon.
@kindredkori29162 ай бұрын
@@GraceandGrit It’s so refreshing to hear that! I completely agree-sometimes Christians can make a huge deal out of things that don’t need it. I want to raise my kids without fear and avoid being overly legalistic with them.

Yeah sorry, i wouldn’t recommend listening to a KZbinr or anyone else for that matter on these issues. You can allow It like my parents did and I eventually did get into witchcraft. If you’re looking for a way to justify doing something wrong you will find it and do it. I’ve noticed in this Luke warm Christian age, anyone who has convictions is legalistic. And those who allow all things are the fair and balanced ones. Apparently the only non legalistic convictions you have are usually around voting or views on generally accepted topics. There’s enough content in the world that you can choose not to allow children to partake in darkness.

My daughters love Harry Potter (as do I) and they love Pokemon. They are both very strong, spiritually minded girls who love God and the Bible😊
@kindredkori2916Ай бұрын
@@Handlehandlehandle320 I understand where you're coming from and I can respect your personal experience and convictions. Everyone has their own journey and perspective when it comes to faith and spirituality. For example, my best friend in middle school was a Wiccan and that didn't lead me to stray from my faith. I believe that when we have the Holy Spirit in us, He convicts and guides us. It's important to be discerning about what we allow in our lives, but also to remember that our convictions come from Him, not from fear of what others believe. I agree that it’s important to be mindful of the content we consume, especially in today’s world where there’s so much out there. That said, I think it's also valuable to approach these topics with an open mind and consider different viewpoints-whether it’s from a KZbinr or anyone else-while staying grounded in our personal beliefs and values. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I have watched y’all since covid when I started homeschooling. I had to give it up due to a post covid condition called POTS/ dysautonomia. I still love watching your videos even though we don’t homeschool anymore. I can’t do a whole lot… KZbin keeps my mind off of things. There’s not many KZbinrs that have content with older kids.

I can certainly appreciate and respect your answer to the Harry Potter question, but the way you kind of condescended and teased 'the parent' who would *not* allow his/her child to watch the films or read the book for spiritual/faith-based reasons was unexpected and mildly disappointing. "I don't have a spiritual conviction about letting them enjoy the movies or books, and so, though the genre is not one that interests me personally and I would not *encourage* them to see/read HP, I would also not prohibit them." Clear and non-judgmental. Lovely couple though ... Blessings on your journey.

@GraceandGrit Thanks! I understand, but I wouldn't call that PC language, just language that's considerate/mindful of the well thought out reasons that other families MAY have for choosing differently for their children.
