He defeated the christian missionaries of that time and showed the superiority of islam over other religion. Maybe stop listening to your scholars opinions for a moment and actually read one of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad AS books first hand. Or on you tube you can even listen which makes it way easier. Maye start with the 'Philosophy of the teaching of Islam' - it won't hurt you to listen and understand it first hand rather than listening to the misguided opinions of others..
