This is fuckin genius! 👏 although what is “hard parking mentality” can’t wrap my head around I’ve been thinking about on my way home in my 1994 bremuda blue SVX with the LSI trim and as i tried to roll down my window to get a breeze to clear my thought cache, my window inside of the window wouldn’t roll down, there was no way to escape my ignominy

"Hard parking mentality" likely means having a fast car but not really doing anything with it other than profiling around and showing off. On one hand, I fully understand wanting a cool car but not wanting to put yourself/it/others at risk, but on the other hand, at some point the car ceases to be a functional object and instead becomes a pure status symbol. Phrase can also refer to modifications geared more toward *looking* fast than actually *being* fast. Other subcultures have equivalents which may be illustrative. Gun culture, for example, has the tacti-cool mall ninjas who put 10 pounds of attachments on a 5 pound gun and still can't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside.

Well it's official according to Dr. Phil.....Owning and driving a vintage Opel GT is like a drug addiction. Seeing as I have 5 of them I should seek therapy immediately!

He really drove it like a rally car...Which is perfectly fine because those mini brutes were built by Germans... I kept mine stock for a long time until I decided to do a few upgrades... Sorry Dr.Phil I'll have to disagree with you on that one 🙂🙂 Upgrading this and that didn't give me temporary satisfaction but permanent satisfaction...
