Maybe lead with that next time, say what you mean and mean what you say. Never rely on others to read your mind to understand what you really mean. The elephant fact is not quite correct. Most quadrupeds have an elbow _and_ a knee in their front legs. The knee is exactly where you'd expect (and yes, there's usually a patella involved) and the "elbow" is up near the shoulder, usually just below the level of the stomach, near where a girth would go on a horse. [ref: my Assoc Dip in App Sci on quadruped physiology, specifically the horse, but with comparisons to other quadrupeds, incl giraffes and cats].
