The qidi receiver uses rf mode: FX 9630-2. CH1-A CH2-E CH3-T CH4-R CH5-RATE CH6-GYRO CH7-TrimR CH8-TrimA CH9-TrimE FX9630 and FX9603 Gyro: -100%=6G small throw, 0%=6G large throw, +100%=3D. Also, rcgroups 'The new qidi-560 maule' has a chart (#21 post) shows the orig. transmitter has some surfaces on low rates and others on high rates depending on whether you are in 6g or 3g modes--weird. I'd like to see a run with a multimode transmitter and seperate rate controls.

Some tips...the cowl coming off the front is good to access motor but leaves the front weak. Reinforce the nose with some small balsa sticks n CA!. Before you snap the front off! See RCsaylors video! Control rods for rudder n elevator flex....acces the servo at rear and put some guides in for the rods. I put in some simple metal hoops, helps reduce the flex. Had to increase throws on rudder n Elevator by moving holes as you indicate! After that it flys okay but not a beginner plane - you gotta be quick on the sticka out off 6g mode... I like it though fun to fly you really got fly it due to it having "agile" flight characteristics...look at the wing smallish cut off at the ends...! Gentle flying and strong glide characteristics is not what this plane is about! I learnt to fly on a volantex sport cub 500 - it flys nothing like that! Make sure motor mount screws are tight one came out on my first flight....and balance prop, mine was badly off balance and may have been responsible for the loss of the motor mount screw. Do all that...and you should have a fun little STOL type agile plane to fly with enough power for loops.😊

I don't feel like today's brushed motors "burn out" too quickly, but I do feel like they get weaker in a pretty short time frame. I could be wrong. But, for instance, with the original XK mini warbirds, they had just enough power out of the box, but after a couple dozen flights they had a harder and harder time climbing, fighting wind, etc., and it wasn't too long before they had barely enough power to enjoy flying at all. But I do like the trend towards more brushed motors and $100 and sub-$100 4-channel planes. Thanks for this vid!

I've come to theese lil planes recently and keep thinking if the sbus port on some of these boards would allow us to put in some ELRS love, that woulb be greater that just bind a multiprotocol module, wich is absolutely fine btw!

Hey Alert I have this same plane and it flew ok but did not have that flying that I was hoping for when I took it out of the safe mode. So I put in a satellite receiver and bind it to a Spectrum DX6 transmitter and now this plane fly's like a champ. Defiantly get rid of the cheep transmitter that it came with

Flies pretty well. Looks good. If there wasn't any clouds, I can imagine how easy it would be to loose sight of it. It survived the hard landing well and crash. There were a couple of close calls that looked like well this is it, but you pulled out. 👏 I'd be interested in seeing a video going over replacing the receiver and using a better transmitter. Curious if you loose beginner mode or not. Happy flying everyone. 🥸

I've heard getting that receiver setup for SBUS is tricky. I would search KZbin for video tutorials specific to that setup. I tried to search for one but was not able to find any. Good Luck!

Great review. I almost enjoy watching you fly/review fixed wing planes as much as I enjoy watching you review quads. This looks like a fun little fixed wing. It seems more geared to the beginner or occasional park flyer. I enjoyed this review/introduction. It does come with some caveats, but it is to be expected on a budget flyer like this. I'd be interested to see you add an FPV camera to one of your fixed wing budget planes. I think it it would be interesting if you attach a camera or/air unit/walksnail to capture footage from your fixed wing reviews. Perhaps it is something you might be inclined to do.
