Logan’s last words, as he lay on the side of the road, seriously injured and bleeding, were to the police officer who was administering first aid to him. They demonstrate his true character and selflessness. He asked, “Is my friend ok?” Coroner Report (2021) Logan was loved by his family and friends. Logan had a sister who was twelve when he died and an older brother. The lives of his siblings and his mother are irreparably affected by Logan’s death, as are those of his other family, his loved ones and friends. Coroner Report (2021) Are you serious, this numbnut stole a vehicle and got his friend killed in the process not to mention all the lives he put at risk. My god they are treating him like he was a saint, dude was a shitbag that now has to live the rest of his life knowing he killed his best friend. He better see jail time for manslaughter charges.

Oh good grief. I almost threw up reading in the description that "Logan's true character and selflessness" was demonstrated by him asking if his friend was ok after he crashed and was badly injured. No, his true character was endangering many lives including those of children through his reckless high speed driving including at one point on the wrong side of the road. Being a thug was his true character. A thief and thug.

When I was doing ambulance driver training many years ago, a friend & I got to ride along with two cops practicing pursuit on the skid pan. They maintained immaculate control at speed with constant skids & 2 vehicles on a very small track. Scared the life out of me but I definitely wouldn’t be trying to outrun Qld police! Not that I’d have tried to do it beforehand, but definitely wouldn’t after I’d experienced their driving.

When I've seen UK police pursuits I've been amazed at the skills at speed, complete with constant commentry of location, speed etc. Amazing to watch, sometimes (rarely) ending in disaster, done to keep us safe from people who's decisions I don't get. Actually, the calm commentary was what was missing here, and I read elsewhere was a problem for the decision-making back at control. That said, I'd not criticise people putting their own lives on the line to help others, just make observations!

You say: "Logan’s last words, as he lay on the side of the road, seriously injured and bleeding, were to the police officer who was administering first aid to him. They demonstrate his true character and selflessness. He asked, “Is my friend ok?” Coroner Report (2021) " You're kidding me, right? Let me just correct that statement a little bit. "True character": A car thief who had complete disregard for the safety of anybody & everybody around him. He could have killed so many people by his reckless actions, instead of stopping and handing himself over to Police. That grub's "true character" is underscored by the fact he only stopped when he crashed. Next. "Selflessness". The only act of selflessness this individual showed was when he died, thus saving the taxpayer a huge ongoing sum to incarcerate him now & all the other expenses he would have incurred over his life. No one took charge of the pursuit, there was a pitiful amount of information sharing (esp in this day and age where information should be shared automatically, digitally). The initial chase had officers hesitant to do 20km/h over the limit on quiet streets, yet the second chase they were doing 150kph, wrong side of the road in busy areas... The penalty for burglary is not death. It certainly shouldn't be the death of innocent bystanders! The pursuit should have been called off. There seemed to be more than enough footage of the criminals to catch them later.

Putting myself in his shoes, the Adrenalin is pumping, you know there is a crazy pursuit happening, your senses are on really high alert(being not only in a high speed chase, but on a bike), and your senses are overwhelmed with focusing on survival and the job. Obviously he was focused on what was happening, and didn’t have the brain power devoted to censoring himself and what he was saying. A kind of situation where it just slips out in the heat of battle. And I know if it was me who was being sworn at, I’d give that officer a free pass knowing that he’s putting his life on the line for the community without a second thought.
