Great reaction. Iam is such an inspiration and a very humble and talented young man. The version he did of this song started off how Lionel sings it, but when he changed it up this is how the Hawaiian reggae group named Ekolu sings it. So once again he was paying homage to his Island roots. Not too many Islanders are familiar with Lionel's version or knew he was the original singer and not many Mainlanders are aware of the Hawaiian reggae version. This young man is bringing two different cultures together and is killing it. So proud of all his accomplishments and he has a bright future ahead. Team Iam all the way!!!

So he actually did a cover of stuck on you by Ekolu, which is a Hawaiian group that covered Lionel Richie song a long time ago. Being from Hawaii I did not know that this was Lionel Richie song. I’ve only ever heard it from Ekolu.

Iam probably got inspired by Ekolu for his performance. Ekolu did Lionel Richie cover song id like to say about 20 some years ago. If you want to check them out, they don't have a music video, but they have the song up.

I am rooting for Iam to be the winner of American Idol. His is by far my favorite because he has a lot of depth, is an artist, and has a wonderful soul. He made Lionel’s song Island Reggae. I honest to goodness would love to have Lionel perform this version with him on the finale or even on tour with him. Iam is Israel Kamakawiwoʻole (IZ) reincarnated. He also gives vibes of the group Three Plus who sings “Honey Baby,” Ka’au Crater Boys (Surf), and Josh Tatofi to name a few. A few of these I have on my iTunes because it’s one of my favorite genres.

1. You need to listen to the original by Lionel. 2. It's not reggae. It's Hawaiian. He mixed the original version by Lionel, and a more upbeat version by the Hawaiian group Ekolu. They spent more time on the fly than the performance.
