@minascookie203815 күн бұрын
Yea I was also confused because I tend to perceive higher eyebrows as more youthful. Qoves mentions the optical illusion of lower eyebrows making the eyes appear bigger and in return more youthful (doesn't always work imo). Another aspect I can think of is the perception of lower eyebrows making you look more dominant compared to higher ones. Dominance is usually associated with adults who still appear youthful whereas visibly old people are perceived as submissive (tho the latter also applies to children and teenagers so Idk)

Daily reminder that it's okay to be ugly.
@atacina16 күн бұрын
No, it isn't. By this, I don't mean that people should condemn themselves - I disagree because there is the implication that people are by default magically born ugly, arbitrarily, with no rhyme or reason. Genes? They aren't fixed. They operate on a read and write system. Genetic determinism is a lie sold to us by divisive, ill meaning groups of people. No one is truly born ugly- It's a matter of health and perception which need to work in tandem to bring about a different change in one's appearance. Diet, exercise, supplementation - all necessary in today's polluted world. However, I don't mean restriction diets, or exercise that one doesn't enjoy. You have to listen to your gut, seek out novel information, and look for new perspectives from others while refusing to give up. Let me give you an example. Scandinavian models - who gave the common idea of a "European beauty standard" exists precisely because their ancestors consumed copious amounts of cheese, milk, and meat. VItamin K2 exists in european aged cheeses, and it is part of why the Dutch are so famously tall, and generally good-looking, alongside other Northern Europeans. Dairy and meat give you a robust facial structure, and body type. This is because of epigenetic changes. It didn't just come out of nowhere. Granted, these changes happened over generations but it doesn't mean one can't enjoy or see the benefits of them over a few years or months. Btw, Europeans were originally lactose intolerant, and so are Mongols, but they developed a tolerance. This works when you eat quality foods from good sources. Don't let bad science tell you that you should starve yourself, avoid sugar and carbs (they're necessary fuel from organic sources) and exercise until you feel you need to mouth-breathe or pass out. You can get amazing benefits just by exercising for 45 minutes (or less,) twice a week. Look up Mike Mentzer, and Ray Peat. You can actually enjoy food and be healthier and more beautiful for it. People in the 80s consumed far more calories, saturated fats, sugars, etc. than us, yet were healthier, leaner, and tanned easier. Now it's a bit harder to lose weight, and you can blame "heart healthy" oils and blue light for that, which make it difficult to tan, and they help cancer cells proliferate.

Depends on overall facial harmony. If someone already has high harmony, those two "flaws" (dark circles and big nose) might not significantly impact their harmony as long as they don't distract from the rest of the face. Conversely for example, a noticably long philtrum always impacts harmony negatively

Something to take into consideration is that while these are considered to be the broadly/ more universal attractive traits, it always will boil down to personal preferences and thus what's considered "attractive" varies greatly from person to person. There’s a lotta things that’s wrong here, this channel is based on stereotypes and some studies. There’s no proven thing on looks, if I find a person attractive you can find just a totally opposite person attractive. Dark circles are not unattractive also just coz a face is youthful doesn’t mean it’s attractive but they say so in the video, coming from an artist. Stop wasting your precious time on this type of channels to find confidence, you are always one of a kind, also personality attractiveness matters more than looks❤ have a great year

Thank you, I feel really concerned for how this affects people - including our idea of "science" itself. This channel pushes feature-ism and CERTAINLY racism (proportions are not the end-all-be-all, also what does any race "have" to look like?), by focusing on things that are culturally mediated - and aren't inherent to "nature", "biology" or "objectivity". This channel sucks, and makes money off of people's insecurities. It also helps the capital-holding class by encouraging arbitrary beauty standards that will have people opt for surgeries, diets, and more uncritical consumption of goods and services, distracting us from our fascist governments.

These are so interesting! I’m always wondering why people stare at me or do a double take when I’m out doing stuff in public or at airports, at restaurants/bars etc., and I’ve always been fascinated by human behavior, so trying to see and understand what other people are seeing helps me to understand why people react to me the way they do. I still don’t get it, but this channel helps me understand why I find certain people attractive, and I can now spot the features that are commonly pointed out. Qoves Studio I know you rarely answer questions in the comments but I thought I would give it a try anyway: Last week I heard an older African-American woman say that when it comes to beauty skin color doesn't matter but facial features/aesthetics do. 🤔 Is there any data on this? Because everything I've read shows that (at least here in America) an average looking white person would be chosen 9-out-of-10 times more than a hot looking dark-skinned (usually African American, Indian, or Middle-Eastern) person. So I was wondering what does the science say. 🤔 The closes I've found is studies showing that people prefer to date what is familiar so: same race, same ethic group, same religion, etc. And like always celebrities don't count because wealth, fame and status trumps everything so yes it's common to say a lot of interracial dating with celebrities but that doesn't mean that it was because their facial features overcame their skin color.
@QOVESStudio16 күн бұрын
Attractiveness and preference are distinct concepts. The most attractive person isn’t always the most preferred choice due to various factors, such as culture, familiarity, socioeconomic status, macro-environmental conditions, age, hormones, personal preferences... Regarding attractiveness and race, every race has individuals with attractive, average, and below-average facial features, and no race is inherently "more physically attractive" than another.

I seem to have the most rare form of dimples because I can't find mention of it anywhere online, but I have a dimple by my left eye, along the bottom crow line area. So it's not "whisker/Indian dimples," but something else. Does anyone else have something similar?

Subconsciously you know generally speaking he has his shit together & got money in order , which is “ attractive “he’s ahead of the game vs the guys your own age , btw it’s normal for woman to date couple years older they mature quicker , mix with being semi attractive with platinum hair , lol it’s a cheat code ! (Easier) duh but older older men ? you got daddy issues for one reason or another or a gold shovel tucked away ! 😂
@reve60514 күн бұрын
Not all older men are attractive though. Still depends on how a person age. People who aged gracefully are always admirable regardless of gender.

@@44sary “Everything is subjective. He’s just showing what the general population says” that's not how statistics and science work 💀. If the general population can agree on the same thing then not everything is entirely subjective. Let's be logical, please.
