Fun fact: Winter explained in this episode that the Schnee family have an hereditary semblance, no other family have this, so every member of the family has the same semblance. Later explained that, apart from use glyph to create platforms or traps with dust, they can also summon passed foes, this means, they have to defeat a grimm to gain access to summon it, for example: Weiss have never defeated a deathstalker before (the giant scorpion) so, she couldn't summon it, but she had defeated beowulfs and nevermore (wolfs and giant crows), so, she should be able to summon them. Now, as you may noticed, the semblance only works on grimm, so, what grimm had Weiss defeated before that used a sword??? ;)

The team in the picture was Team STRQ (Crow or Qrow is actually spelled with a Q) and in order were Summer, Ty, Raven, and QROW. You ran into Raven during season 2 when she popped out of nowhere to save Yang.

It was mentioned that summoning brings forth enemies who made you grow as a fighter and as a person. That means that the sword represents some enemy Weiss fought, and defeated, and in defeating them became a greater huntress. Think for half a second and you will figure it out.

The reason Weiss didn't want to call her father is because she knew deep down that her father not really care about her at all. He just want to use her daughter for the benefit of his Dust Company.

You didn't paid attention to Winter's conversation with Weiss, that's why you didn't understand why Weiss didn't pick up her Father's call and why Weiss loves so much her sister even with that strict attitude. Weiss and Winter both have trouble with their father, who seems to think that he can control her daughters with his money, but both took ways far from him (it is not explained to this moment what made them need to move away from him), Winter joining the military, Weiss studying in another country, but both want to demonstrate that they doesn't need him or his money.

Volume 6 was the final one with Vic doing Qrow’s voice (and I agree that Vic did it better. The new voice actor has a raspy voice instead of a gravely one)
