To this day I find it hilarious that winter and Weiss are supposed to have proper form with fencing sword style technique and in comes Drunkle Qrow showing an actual legit and proper fencing pose with a goddamn great sword. The words "roasting with action" have never rung clearer.

One thing you guys seemed to miss, at least it didn't come up in the follow up conversation, concerning Ironwood and the chess piece was the scene in Cinder's room. Cinder specifically said, 'It looks like we have a new access point.' Emerald asked, 'Anywhere good?' Cinder replies, 'You could say that.' On her scroll is a picture of Ironwood up in one corner. So if he is a NEW access point, then the picture of the queen you saw on his scroll was the worm she incorporated into Beacon's system getting into his scroll.

The CCT tower has been compromised since Cinder's visit during the Vytal ball. When Amity stadium linked to the tower, it was compromised. Ozpin's office is in the tower, and Ironwood just linked his scroll to the office. *He's* compromised. The fact that no one seems to have a clue is why I wonder if hacking was ever a thing on Remnant, before now.

The CCT network is a relatively new thing in Remnant, only a few decades old at most. The towers are so heavily secured that I don't think systems infiltration is something that they've thought to worry about, which is rather prideful. Plus the specific person who made the Black Queen malware is particularly skilled against Atlas systems (won't name them as they haven't been specifically introduced yet).

This was fun!! And Yes, I think the General consensus in the FNDM is that Winter and Qrow have "history" together. They even have their own ship name: Snow Birds .. 🙂

Qrow is 39 (based on some math of team STRQ's ages + yang) and Winter is around 10 years older than Weiss (graduated from academy + had enough time to rise to be Ironwood's second in command. Also Manga shows her as a teenager during Weiss' young age) .. so that puts her at 27-ish .... ok, so maybe he has 12 years on her .. still shipping it .. 😆

there's very definitely history there. It seems like she may have fallen for his roguish charms when she was a new young impressionable Atlas specialist working with Ironwood and it may not have ended well from her perspective.

@@jonjohns8145 The difference between Wiess and Winter is 7 years. She's not Ironwoods second at this point either - she's running supplies and troops to Vale, not the job you give your second-in-command, who I would expect would be back in Atlas running things while Ironwood is in Vale. She probably still outranks most regular soldiers though. I'm not sure where specialists are in the military command structure, but I would expect them to be some form of officer upon graduation.

@@bskec2177 Winter was tasked with heading security for the arms shipment to Vale because the last several of them had been intercepted and stolen (all the arms and mechs on the train last volume). She's not Ironwood's second in command, but she is his top Specialist at Large.

These were much simpler times for RWBY: Back when we hadn’t the slightest clue of who produced the Queen Chess Malware, the signs were all there but it really wasn’t a clear cut answer at first because they were never explicitly introduced or written into the show as of then.
