Just saw the little note you flashed about security accosting you! Thank you so much for doing this despite the pressure on you. I am even more appreciative than before; you really are a die-hard fan AND you want to spread your Trek love. I feel indebted.

DS9 the best Trek series by a light mile. Period. The ladies really look good,
@MKDumas19817 жыл бұрын
Nick Usalis Knight A light mile is not a unit of distance. If the word "light" is used, a unit of time has to follow it - ex. "Light year" - because it's describing how far light has traveled in that amount of time.

Thanks for recording these and sharing them despite security trying to hassle you. Can't believe they're still trying to restrict people in this age of smartphones and action cams, they need to give it up already....it's part of the purpose why some people come to cons, they want to record everything like it's their vacation because it sort of is. It's becoming the norm and isn't going to stop.

:-) Seeing all these wonderful actors together again really makes me feel sorry the new Star Trek show won't be a continuation of the TNG/DS9/VOY chronology. Same timeline, just way in the past. How great would it be to revisit Deep Space Nine 15 years later in a Netflix type 13 episode deal? Pretty sure Morn would still be at Quark's.
@chrisThurt42698 жыл бұрын
I was made to understand that the new series was actually going to be part of the new timeline. I hope I'm wrong about that. And YES I would love to see something new on the DS9 front! I can see many ways they could create something new off the way the last episode ended. I didn't take that final scene to be at all the Permanent End since we know the Prophets are not limited to linear timelines.

I like how Star Trek brought up issues like interracial relationships, same sex relationships, gender, PTSD doing what you have to do to survive during war, and just morality.

A question I would be tempted to ask Nicole (Ezri) is if that brutal scene with Andrew (Garak) wherein he is making the most withering remarks about her basically being a miserably poor replacement for Jadzia perhaps cut a little too near the bone? :-)

DS9 is my favorite. I love how dark and gritty it is compared to the other series. What about you? What's your favorite series?
@nythepremier8 жыл бұрын
Growing up it was TNG, but as I got older it became DS9. I love how dark and gritty it is too and DS9 has some of the best moments in the Star Trek universe.
@sarahkinsey54348 жыл бұрын
I like how well the acting and writing is in DS9. TNG had SIr Patrick Stewart & Brent Spiner, but DS9 had so many great actors.

Because the symbiont can go from a (hetero- or homosexual) male to a female host in the blink of an eye, I would think that none of the symbionts would have a sexual orientation of their own; it would be based on the host, to a degree, but, whateversexuality would be pretty common.

OMG Terry Farrell aged NOT a bit. Still hot. :)
@jacobmanfield67587 жыл бұрын
Wow this panel is awkward. Terry was pushed off the show, is still sensitive about it, and new Dax is at her side and looks uncomfortable. Behr is too brusque and mentioned that the cast was resentful that Nicole was getting so much airtime. And he actually had the nerve to say Nana should have been on the pill instead of getting pregnant and inconveniencing the producers.

I'll never understand why after 6 years Terry decided to leave the show. It messed up the 7th season so bad and to only have to finish up 1 more season after all that time I can't see her decision based on anything other than just weird. It's like having bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th...no outs no strikes losing by 1 point and just calling a forfeit. So many stories were gonna come out of the Klingon/Trill union and thought it would make great episodes....they even hinted that Jadzia could have a child with Worf. Then she disappears like a fart in the wind...1 more season? aww comon I did 6...enoughs enough...seriously what was Terry thinking??
@jacobmanfield67587 жыл бұрын
She quit because of the rampant sexism and favoritism by Rick Berman and other producers Colm Meany and Avery Brooks were allowed to do projects outside of Trek and were given time off. Terry asked for five days off to do a Seinfeld episode and Rick wouldn't allow it. When it was time to sign up for a seventh season with an eighth season option, Terry asked for a raise (since Star Trek paid crap wages) or the ability to be recurring. The answer was always no. She felt unappreciated so she left the series. The franchise preached tolerance and equality but the producers were horrible to the actresses. Gates McFadden was fired for one season for speaking up for herself. And even though several male actors was given opportunities to direct she wasnt given a chance until the final season even though she had a lot of experience. And favoritism was another reason. Wil Wheaton asked for a few days off in the beginning of season 4 so he could star in a movie during his hiatus. Rick Berman said no. And then he wasn't given any screen time for the episode he was asking for time off from. This had happened several times before, so Wil decided to leave and not have to deal with Rick's mind games.

Here's a link to her panel where she explains this quite well starting at 25:30 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iISzpKufpN6UjJI . She was in the right and I am so glad she made this public as I always suspected she didn't want to leave to "pursue other endeavors" as is the typical party line.

A transgenderish pansexualish character is forward-thinking? Dax wasn't the first Trill in the Star Trek universe.
