@@irgant I can already tell by the "1991" that you're saying the Soviet union broke up in 1991, and you don't get the joke. And your name is in non-Russian characters, and your profile picture has English. So you either don't speak Russian and used Google translate, or you speak both, but wanted to be a nuisance by replying in Russian to the English comment.

Taking it to Germany he drove it on the autobahn reports say the speed was insane and the engine eventually pulled itself out of the car lol. Now with the insane powerful Russian aero engines mounted in a car maybe a Lada or even one of the old soviet black limousines that would be a sight to see. Let me know what you think guys.

You need to put them in the "Tractor pull style" configuration. The reason older V-16 cylinder engines worked so well is because all the pistons were on the same crankshaft. Every engine you add may add horsepower, but it is mechanically dissipated.

If you put one way slipper clutchs between each motor like a one way bearing to allow the crankshaft some rotational play..every motor has different behavior with timming..hooked solid crank to crank the motors fight each other..and you don't get the top performance of each..I went through this with a pulling tractor with multiple motors...once we gave them 2inches of rotational play we got full power from each...thats why you had the distributors explodeng...FANTASTIC SHOW..I love your creations,.,

Hmmm.... I see a lot of vibration on that setup. You might find it runs better and vibrated much less if you correctly match the firing order between all the engines. With 16 cylinders you should be able to get 4 cylinders all on the power stroke at exactly the same time across 4 engines if you worked it all out and set it up correctly. Cool vid nonetheless... :)

The principle is right, the numbers are wrong. Each 4 cyl engine fires every 180 deg so the phasing of each number 1 cyl should be 0 deg, 45 deg, 90 deg, 135 deg, then the front engine picks it up again at 180 deg and so on. Less stress on that long and flexy crank and would sound way cool!
@kevt9442
@kevt9442 5 жыл бұрын
It would make no difference in power output, it would only smooth the power pulses. You can't even archive proper balance with 2 4cyl together so there's no point getting complicated with it.

I was waiting for them to get into the timing procedure, but no. Attaching the crank pulley to the flex plate would have to be just right for this to work well and maximize power.

First I'm not an engineer nor am I a mechanic What if it was modified to make an entire engine act as a single cylinder. So in theory 4, 1 cylinder (IRL 4 cylinder) engine with 4 pistons. Then theoretically engine 1 all 4 cylinders at 180, engine 2 and 3 all 4 cylinders in each at 0, then engine 4 all 4 cylinders at 180.
