Quad Lock Motorcycle Phone Mount Vibration Dampener, USB Charger, and Wireless Charging Head Install

Today my Suzuki DRZ400S and my Honda Grom are getting significant phone mount upgrades. I'm adding the Quad Lock mount, vibration dampener, and wireless weatherproof charging head to my DRZ, and the Grom is getting hooked up with the Quad Lock mount, Quad Lock vibration dampener, and the Quad Lock USB charger. I'll walk you through the process of installing all of these great motorcycle phone mount options in this video, from adding the vibration dampener to the existing mount, to adding a charger (either USB or wireless) on top, and finally mounting my phone and plugging it in (or not, with the wireless charger) to make sure it's all hooked up correctly. Don't worry about damaging your camera's phone due to the motorcycle vibrations. With the Quad Lock dampener, your phones autofocus and stabilization should be just fine. The Quad Lock install is a simple process, and I'll walk you through the whole thing from start to finish in this video.

This video is a MUST SEE for anyone who is considering on buying a quad lock system. When I first read about the vibration dampener i thought "This is just for the people who do off-road and that stuff" untill I read that the optical system of your phone may get damaged from the vibration of the motorbike. I think this is something that not so many people know about and it's quite important to take care of it.

I've had the Quad Lock system for a few years on my 2012 Goldwing. I bought the wired charger with it (this was before they came out with the wireless charger). For the first week it was great, but then it couldn't seem to keep up for some reason. I reached out to Quad Lock, and they sent me a replacement. Unfortunately the replacement didn't fair much better. For the first few weeks it charged my phone just fine, but then for some reason it couldn't keep up, even with my screen turned off. Hopefully yours faired better. I just replaced the charger out with the wireless charger last weekend. Other than a quick test to make sure it worked, I haven't had a chance to take it out on the road yet. Hopefully it fairs better than the wired version for me.

I was also concerned about not having a fuse, but this I found on their website”The USB charger has an inbuilt self-healing Polyfuse and Surge Protection. It also has Polarity Protection which prevents damage to the charger if wired up incorrectly.”

That's prob my problem on my Tiger Rally Pro......that and the too thin or too thick handlebars having all kinds of issues mounting my quadlock/antivibration/weatherproof wirelss. Perhaps I just need that USB power one like you're using.....

I love the concept of the quad lock. I just don't like that it is tied to a specific case for specific phones. I wish they had a universal attachment that I could just stick on any phone. I'm an avid off roader (currently on a YZ250F) and looking for a good mount for a Phone based GPS.

In my opinion, Quadlock really messed up by not having the cable hard wire into the unit. The plug option is just another annoying place that can rattle loose. I would get one if this wasn't the case!

I just ordered a Quad Lock set up and waiting for it to arrive. What I don't get at all is the charging wire set up. If you have a charging unit already on the bike, you can simply run the wire up to the phone when mounted. Why plug a wire to the phone mount when you can just run it to your phone? Pretty weird lol

Saves time + is weatherproof...although if it's raining I don't usually have my phone on the bars anyway. Passive vs active charging, I guess. It's super convenient but not necessary, for sure.

The dampener will help if you have a good suspension, on my Goldwing and Supertenere I have no problems but my son and I have ruin our cameras on our Gsxs1000 and 750, because of the sportier ride, 2 of my sons friends have screwed up the stabilizer on their phones on a ninja 650 and mt09 so on sport bikes on our shitty roads in Quebec it does not protect the phone enough, smooth riding bikes should be fine

It went together easily in less than an hour. kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

Quad Lock Vibration Dampener does not work. Don’t waste your money. To see what happens to an iPhone 8 after one season on a Quad Lock Vibration Dampener check out the video on my page. This phone was mounted on a Tenere 700 - not a high vibration motorcycle. Fortunately, I only use this phone as a dedicated GPS. I won't be mounting my iPhone 12 to it - ever.
