Any reason you went with the USB really? Do you plan on any other accessories that would need this usb connection? Just looking at the 12v-24v option which is more weatherproof (Ip68 vs 67 on the USB version), and 50 dollars cheaper. Cheers!

No answer because he knows he fucked up. The hard wiring option also charges at 15W vs 10W and is much cleaner to install Just wire it directly to the wires going to the ignition.

Most bikes DO NOT have a key for the seat, however, a lot of them do. Mine does not have a key for the front seat, only the rear, BUT the rear key seat doesn't work with the solo seat cowling. Thanks for the comment! 🤙🏍️

The black wire that could reach the front you have over the silver bracket then tucked in more or less the same place kind would of unplugged that and tucked on bracket so when your seats on it won’t rest on the wire

Sure, but reaching under the wireless charger that has the weather prove rubber on the end piece would be super annoying, and eventually destroy the rubber seal.

I'm not 100% sure what you are asking. But the charger turns on when the bike is on, and charges the phone while the bike is in operation. Once the bike is off, the "AUTO" setting of the unit turns off the charger even if your phone stays on the charger.

Just Facebook messaged quad lock. Why not just supply the wireless charger head with power isolation instead of making you buy the separate 12v to usb smart charger set up. More money and end up with loads of unneeded cables left over

You have to think differently my friend. Not everyone needs the USB smart adapter. Most bikes come with an auxiliary port to feed into. If Quad Lock just sent one out with every order then they would be literally throwing product and money away.

Take a look at their website, they might have changed the offerings from when I purchased it. I first bought the Quad Lock motorcycle mount in addition to the vibration damper, then later on I got the wireless charger head.

If you keep it on and don't turn off the charger then yes, it 100% will drain the battery, however, you can either get the "auto" switch which automatically shuts down the wireless charger once it notices the bike is no longer running, or.. you can easily just pus the "power" button under the charging pad which turns off the charger as well. Two ways or making sure it doe not drain your battery. There is a third way, but that's by getting a battery with a jump start feature built into it. I will prob do a video on this type of battery in the future.

The wire reached the seat easily, as for your second question I would refer that question the Quad Lock themselves. They have a pretty good response time with inquiries.

Not sure what you mean by "sort of bung". The wireless charger comes with wiring to the battery if you don't have any auxiliary ports available on your bike.

I don't think you need to worry about battery for new phones. I keep my charging if it gets to 100%. Same thing as charging the phone overnight. Put the phone on charge before bed, it chargers and poof ready to go the next morning. Nobody gets up in the middle of the night to stop the charge.

@@CHRGITUP Yes very helpful, only thing i found now on my Benelli TRK when i do longer rides it only shuts down the wireless charger when i turn on the key for like 2 seconds then it turns off. Like yesterday i did a ride 170km and it literally never turned off. Is my battery just so strong?

According to the "product" it SHOULD turn off after a couple of seconds once the bike key is turned to all the way off, not the bike being off, the key switch to off. If it doesn't I would reach out to quad lock and be like "what's up with that?".

@@MagicSac yes, i ordered the TecMate USB Fast Charger - O-106 . The bike kills the power to the usb plug when it turned off so its safe to use.

I believe if I am not mistaken that any bike that comes with a factory accessory outlet (or power outlet) frok factory kills the power output to any accessory plugged into the USB port so the battery does not get drained. Sorry for the late reply, a lot going on right now bts. Ride safe! 🤙🏍

I don't have a steering damper. I also don't think that having one is 100% necessary either. Your arms/elbows are technically steering dampers haha. But yeah if you do get one then you'll need to figure something else out for the quad lock for sure.

Hi! I just installed quadlock and put it on “auto” and when i turn it on it does flash and a blue light appears, but when i switch it off, the light is still there and doesn’t go off.. does it go off in few minutes or whats the catch?

The blue light should go off after a little bit, I've seen mine go off almost immediately sometimes and other times it takes a minute, but it should deffinatley turn off, otherwise it would juts keep drawing power from your battery.

It's probably because you might have a lithium battery. Lithium batteries have a higher resting voltage, so it will keep on draining it until it reaches the threshold.

There are plenty of wires closer to the engine from factory then the one I ran, this was run underneath the fuel tank which is a good distance from heat sources. Running it under the fuel tank close to the tank will have no issues from what I have seen.

Got an 03 r1. Set this up and switch is on auto, however, the head does not turn off at all. Even with killswitch and key off. Let it sit over night thinking it would just shut off after a few minutes but came out the next morning and it was still on. Been having to turn it off with the head button. Any ideas?

That is weird, I would reach out to their support team. I don't believe that should he happening. It should shut off after maybe like 1 minute or less once the key is in the off position.
