Super informative - thanks very much! Just installed mine yesterday and since I'm a 'landscape mode' guy, I rotated it 90 degrees to have the release extensions in the vertical position. Works perfectly.

I don’t know much about the BMW phone integration. Is it a personal preference to use your phone independently? Or is integration deficient?
@yodomcat11 ай бұрын
The integration is good… when it works. And that’s the problem, you answer a call but the phone is routed through the bike and not the headset or vice versa. The result you can’t speak, so you hang up. The person rings you back, and now you have no screen as you see the call there, you hang up, because you can’t speak, and rinse and respect until you get so mad you crash! . Just mount your phone, cut out the bike and go direct from phone to Sena and you have no issues.

What app do you actually use when riding? Anything sepcail?

For nav? I like Waze. It has good community detection for pot holes and speed cameras

Off topic but, does your sports screen stay on every time you start up or do you need to continually need to change from pure view ?
@yodomcat11 ай бұрын
You would need to move down to it every time. But it’s two clicks.

I have mine plugged into the USB on my bike. The head does not charge the phone well enough when using it for navigation. I suspect the USB amps on the bike are low however I was disappointed with this head. Went back to cable with the same USB port and it works fine.

Mmm not sure if that’s a voltage draw issue or your phone battery, or both (or neither lol). But for me and my iPhones it’s never been an issue; after a days riding I’ll always come off the bike 100% battery charged.

What worries me is the vibration. I've got an iPhone and they are known to have their cameras ruined by the vibration. Looking at your video and seeing all that wobbling wasn't reassuring at all.
@yodomcat11 ай бұрын
The vibration you see surprisingly is what keeps it all working. It is when it doesn’t bounce and is rigid that it brakes the cameras. Ive had iPhones forever and Quad Lock. Done all speeds on all surfaces and conditions and never had an issue. You can buy with confidence 👍🏻

You can get a vibration dampener if you're really concerned which works excellently. It's the high-frequency vibrations that are a problem for cameras for being fixed too rigidly. I got one (well, one for each bike) this month with their black friday sale price & wish I'd done it years ago
