This, in my opinion, is one of the most surprising albums of all time. Quonka blew expectations out of the fuckin’ water, man. Suggestion (There’s no way you haven’t guessed it at this point): Silent Alarm by Bloc Party.

fantasyworld is meant to be a kind of prequel. It's essentially a suicide note. The place he's talking about is some interpretation of an afterlife or death. He compares death to these comforting things like his moms bakery in Maine or a cabin in Sweden. I like to think that the climax of the song could represent the moment the noose tightens and that portion of the song is the time it takes for him to die with him "floating mountains away" at the end to the fantasyworld, but that's really just a speculation. This albums concept is absolutely amazing.

Crazy ass album especially considering it’s self produced by quad who is not known for this type shit AT ALL. Def one of the best albums of 2022

Quadeca said on social media that "fantasyworld" is a flashback to before the character took his own life. It's about how he wanted to find a better place and escape. I cried to this in my reaction video😅

The way I’ve always interpreted House settling is that quad is feeling resentment and wanting his mom to be with him where he is, so he selfishly turns on the stove to kill them and bring them to him, so Danny brown adds to this by rapping from the perspective of carbon monoxide. However quads plan doesn’t work as heard in fractions of infinity where he can hear his mother but he cannot fully communicate, repeating the term “those words don’t do you justice” and saying “I hear a voice without a face” (some of this is completely true in context of the album like the Danny brown verse, but some of this is my personal interpretation based on listening to it multiple times so take it with a grain of salt 👍 )
@danielmcgrath680
@danielmcgrath680 10 ай бұрын
From the fantano interview, quad said the carbon monoxide element is him leaking it from the furnace in hopes his mom can see him as carbon monoxide poisoning is a very common cause of ‘ghost sightings’, it makes you hallucinate then ppl think their houses are haunted. I also like your interpretation too though :))

I had never even been able to respect youtuber music before this album and was heavily prejudiced against it when I first heard it around release. The only reason I even listened was because it was getting amazing reviews but I was absolutely ready to write it off as nothing special, but man it's just so good. It commands attention.

This album is so crazy, best album of 2022. The concept, songwriting, production is just insane. Knots is the best one or picking up hands. Or house settling. Or born yesterday. Or tell me a joke. Or fractions of infinity. Literally a 10/10 album

I like it. Some parts of this reminded me of the act 'Subtle'. Off kilter fast pace hip hoppy rap with guitar and harmonies. Their album 'for hero/for fool' or their debut ' A new white' would be a good starting point.

i love this album! been watching for a while, and ive been meaning to drop an album suggestion. i saw you enjoyed the prettier songs on selected ambient works vol 2, so i think youd like the album aia: alien observer by grouper. it has a much more layered and otherworldy sound, with liz harris' (the woman behind grouper) beautiful vocals on top of the ambience, instead of just being instrumental, like ambient albums usually are. definitely my favorite ambient album and i think youd really like it.
