Brief explanation of IDMTHY: The character of the album is a version of Quadeca who follows through on taking his own life. He was stuck in a life he felt was not worth living and he became fascinated by the idea of not existing so he took his own life. To his surprise he ascends into a ghostly form of himself and quickly begins to regret his decision. He watches over his family as they move on from his death and he becomes desperate to communicate with them as he feels like he is being forgotten. In a moment of weakness and selfishness, he sets off a carbon monoxide leak with the hopes of his mother being able to see him in the hallucinations. This attempt to communicate failed and he almost ended up killing his mother. He is overwhelmed with guilt, loneliness, and the idea of being forgotten causing him to have a panic attack. After calming down, he reflects on the moments leading up to his suicide with a newfound perspective gaining some amount of closure. “let me go but don’t let go of me”. He is then able to enter the void and become consumed by static as he achieves his original goal of not existing. Only this time he wishes he could be alive with his loved ones.

He’s working on the next project called VANISHER right now, which seems like a title for another concept album. quad is the goat at making you feel exactly what he wants you to feel and i think thats why the concepts hit so well. quad was steadily improving since before voice memos, and every album since has been double as good. it’s crazy how i think idmthy is a 10 and he still has space and time to improve

This is a w reaction, you should do quadeca a first studio album called “from me to you”, including the deluxe, the deluxe was released 6 months after his album, the growth from the album to the deluxe is crazy, and then you go to “I didn’t mean to haunt you”, and then “scrapyard”, scrapyard should be your last reaction to him if you react to him, it’s not the most palpable to new audiences, so from me to you should definitely be your next reaction to him, it’s rap and singing focused, very good album

@@ValdezSayLessyeh it’s a concept album from the perspective of someone who has committed suicide and is basically “haunting”/watching over his loved ones and stuff. the song house settling for instance is about him trying to give his family carbon monoxide poisoning so they can join him in the afterlife, so danny browns verse on that song is actually from the perspective of the carbon monoxide and it makes sense when you hear the lyrics with that in mind lol
