Hey Fergus, just wanna say these videos are amazing for me. Currently getting my phd in physics so it's tough for me to train as much as I want, but these videos remind me that I can always find time to do it! Best, -Owen

I love the training day/day in the life videos. It really puts into perspective that you, just like the rest of the lads here, have just as much going on in your life (or more) and manage your schedule with some careful planning. It feels really good to see these kind of videos and think "Fergulicious can do it, I sure as hell can to". Keep inspiring sir, many thanks and a thousand cheers.

I'd love to see some more content on getting started and how the journey is building the aerobic base using an HR monitor. You've certainly inspired me to start adding aerobic work to my life. I still can't run for very long without my HR going above that threshhold so I do a lot of run/walk or ruck with a heavy backpack to try and get the miles in.

Keep the content up Fergus, I stumbled on your channel after recently having got into powerlifting and bouldering (which is a fairly weird cross-over). The training tips and details have helped! Inspired by your videos, I'm training for my first triathlon. Loving it, but still a million miles off your levels of fitness. After a 40 or 50km bike and an 8-10km brick run in the morning, I'm definitely not thinking about another big cardio workout on the same day!

Have been loving this series since Pt 1, Fergus, what a beast of a training day, well done! I was wondering what the music is in your Wintering opening when you are getting it done in the dark and the cold, sounds quite ominous but for me also super inspiring, wondering if I would be able to add it to my training playlist! Cheers from Canada, Scott

Fergus, when are we going to see you filming with Ross Edgley?
@maquettemusic16232 жыл бұрын
Hi Fergus: with the amount of output you're doing, aren't you consistently worried about overuse injuries? If you are confident in your body's robustness, is training this much worth the risk that naturally comes with such volume? It'd be really cool to see a video on recovery, everything from foam rolling, strengthening/lengthening, ice baths or whatever it is you do! Thanks for the constant inspiration.
@maquettemusic16232 жыл бұрын
Also, will the big 3/5k workout be out on the 2nd as well? Thanks man.
@ferguscrawley952 жыл бұрын
Hello! Warning: long answer incoming haha! Don’t let one video fool you on posing any ‘risk’ - I have never had any indication of an overuse injury because we are very diligent with managing stressors. The slight niggle I mention in this video is the first even slight ‘injury’ of note I’ve had in 4 years, which seemed to come from a small misgroove as I unracked - I’ve built up the work capacity in over 10 years of consistent training, and I’m significantly less likely to get injured with my strength base than a lot of endurance athletes that neglect that, and just pound pavements and work off of weekly mileage as their principle metric. And as I mentioned, this day was a one off due to scheduling, and all at a low intensity. (And very keen to reiterate there is no point in others mimicking this unless it aligns with their goals!) Recovery is inbuilt into the programming, whereby we aim not to exceed to maximum recoverable volume I can tolerate each week (ongoing trial and error), as well as this I focus on sleep, and effectively manage my nutrition - beyond that, nothing to report (and sadly, a lot of things sold as improving recovery do very little to actually do so if you’re already exceeding work capacity). Hope that covers your Qs - and sorry to let you down on no additional recovery protocol, I get asked an awful lot about that sort of thing so excuse the wordy answer 😂
