"MSFS2020 Auto FPS" works a lot in VR (Google for a MSFS 2020 Settings guide from Antonio Schneider). I got from 6-16 to 30-40 fps with an RTX 2080ti on a Quest 3. I tried losless scaling too, but that didn't helped a lot for me (its more for flatscreen mode).

It´s working! Finallly for me. Onto a 2080. Las time I´ve tried and could´t make it happen, now I just follow exaclty your settings here and it´s working, just like magic. i´m still using the frame gen mod with this on top and is really smoth. I was strugling with the ATR these days with lot´s of stutters and they´re gone! I´m able to use DLSS in quality now, instead of Performance, so now shaper avionics and together with auto fps I see lot´s of cool ground. Thanks a lot, man, I own you a beer!

Whoever has a screen with a refresh rate of 144, you must set frames like this at 36 Or 48 or 72 FPS. You will get a smooth performance as if you were playing at a constant 120 FPS.

@@luiscurtolocause the game isn’t stuttering, when you play on 70 fps but your pc won’t reach them the fps are always falling off and the game starts stuttering like you are on 20 fps while you are between 50-66. Just use and max frame rate that is reachable and that your pc is able to hold consistently

@_____6412 I have a 1920x1080 monitor run in a windowed mode, Anti-aliasing: Nvidia DLSS super resolution; DLAA; frame gen : Off; V-sync: Off; Nvidia reflex low latency: On; DX 12. I let AutoFPS manage TLOD. I have the Nvidia control panel settings exactly as mentioned in the video (note: I had to put the settings in again after updating drivers). I fly the A2a Comanche at 30FPS, the 737 at 30 fps (with some occasional drops) . I use the X2 on the Loseless scaling , not X3. I am sure, you have tried all these. That's all I can share. I hope it helps. Are you running a 4K monitor? if so, maybe that could be a reason for the issues.

I have a 3080Ti and it works just fine, as intended. To record with it in OBS Studio, you do it as Game Capture, Mode is Capture specific window, Window is LosslessScaling.exe, Match Priority is Match Title, otherwise... etc. Note OBS will only see it though while you have the game window selected. Otherwise you'll get nothing or a freeze-frame of the game.

One thing I noticed in the xplane is: start scaling will lose some in game fps. For example, I was having 50 FPS, start scaling use Lossless the FPS will drop to 45, but the FPS drawn by the Lossless will display 45/80.

Works better than AMD fluid motion on my system... I set 72 framerate limit in River tuner on my 165hz monitor.. AMD 6800XT - Put everything to default in AMD settings.. Use 3x in LSFG 2.3..... getting 110 FPS solid effort. Cheers for the VID

I can confirm that Lossless Scaling Frame Gen works insanely good. BUT, because MSFS is so CPU heavy.....in busy airports I get CRAZY stutters and shimmering as the CPU and Frames get in and out of sync. Its simply a case of the graphics out-pacing the main thread. For those with powerful CPUs, you'll likely have better luck. For small airport/GA flyers, its also great. But for me, big airport focused, its not enjoyable.

The problem with this product that I also have is that after some time MSFS starts to make invisible some scenery parts. You lose gates, or you lose the grass on the ground, or you lose buildings...

Lossless Scaling does NOT work with my RTX 3080 Ti. You can see a slight visual change on rotors, *but the FPS does not change* at all. In contrast, the FrameGen mod works, but doesn't look as good.

It works for me. 4070 gpu, 5800X3D cpu. Global limit 120 fps in NCP. Program msfs in NCP: limit fps 40 (1/3 of 120). 2x scaling in LSFG. Program lossles scaling in NCP: Vulcan / Open GL set to : DXGI In heavy scenery airports, with lots of traffic and weather, it locks in 80 fps in 2X LSFG. No stutters, tearing, artifacts. (I'm using DX 11 in MSFS !! )

I tried it today, but seem to have to cap my 4K FPS with AMD Chill or RTSS to ensure GPU has enough capacity to do the framegeneration. Kind of makes sense, but the cap needs to drop to 30 FPS to be stable enough.

My experience with V2.11 is degraded performance, compared to prior versions and/or running without it, as it now generates 60-70% constant micro stutters (according to the AMD Performance Overlay). My monitor is a 60 Hz Sony 65" HDR TV. My GPU is an AMD 6900XT. When the scaling was limited to 2x, I saw comparable performance to running without it, but the GPU was only working half as hard to generate 30 fps vs 60 fps without Lossless scaling running. There were only momentary micro stutters, and in time the micro stutters would eventually stop, so it was worthwhile to use it. When 3x was introduced, running MSFS windowed didn't resize to full screen as it did in the previous version, but left significant top and bottom headers, so I stopped using it. Then, when v2.11 (the current version) was released, I tried it again and it does resize back to full screen when MSFS is run windowed, but now it generates constant 60-70 percent micro stutters (at 2x), so performance is severely degraded running with it now. I tried running at 3x in the prior version, but the latency was quite noticeable, and quality was worse than at 2x. I get a fairly solid 60 fps without running Lossless Scaling, so at the moment, I'm not seeing any compelling reason to use it, which is disappointing. Hopefully it will be fixed in a future update.

These configs did not quite work for me because my monitor has 59hz refresh rate and Nvidia control pannel locks my frame cap so I used the lossless scaling vsync. I let the game run uncaped but lossless scaling stops at 60 fps and works like a charm with minimal artefacting and lag for me.

No, this is projects the extra frames to the screen. This means the game is still running at the base frame rate but you see more frames. This means you won’t get the projected frames to your vr (I’ve tested h3vr and as i said, same framerate as the base framerate)

Oh OK I think you use x2 in Lsfg to bring it back to 60.. Got it.. I use rtss to cap it to 20 fps and use x3 to bring it back to 60 fps which is my monitor refresh rate.. Rtss gives the smoothest frame pacing by the way..

@@vin340600 Rtss is great, but it has frame pacing problems with frame generation in many games, it's recommended to cap frame rate in Nvidia control panel, or inside the game if it has the option.

As far as I know, in order for LSFR to work, you need to set your game resolution to Window mode (borderless or normal, whatever you prefer). It does not work in full screen (I think). edit: I correct myself. I just tried it in full screen and it worked just fine. I had issues in the past. Maybe it was a different version. edit2: As I suspected, at full screen does not work in some games. I've just tried Cyberpunk and it only works in borderless or windowed.

I'm getting 15 fps, oddly when unfocused, I get 30 fps. What vsync settings are suppposed to be set in nVidia for FS? vsync is off in FS. I have a 60 hz monitor and GeForce 3060 / 10700k.

This product has issues for me. If I use it in DX12 Beta there is 50/50 chance of getting DX Driver Failure in flight and it brings the entire sim down. The more annoying problem for me on my triple monitor setup is the mouse cursor vanishes randomly and wont come back unless you turn off Lossless Scaling. This is with the correct options checked such as Multi Monitor mode. The cursor vanishing makes this program unusable for me as I need to be able to click on stuff outside the sim on other monitors. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing works. I found using this with DX11 to be safer. I never had a driver crash event in DX11. MS DX12 is beta so it's still buggy and LS can compound the problem causing crashes.

Hi Sorry, don't want to sound like someone trying to nitpick, but all your recommendations are based on your own 60 Hz monitors. Maybe time to also test with something more modern? Not trying to say that FS2020 cannot run well on 60 frames but that I think most users use monitors with higher framerates and resolution. Now, before you state that nothing is gained from higher framerates then I would at least say for myself readability got vastly improved with higher framerates. Especially if the camera is moving and you are trying to get a quick overview of what is happening. I used to have a 3 monitor setup based on really high quality color accurate monitors (not designed for gaming) but went to a 4 monitor setup (3+1 above center) and they are 165 Hz and higher (the smaller one on top is 240) and yes, colors were not as good but pretty close (I calibrate them) but I could read all displays without zooming in. Anyway, thanks for all you tips. Keep up the good work

Wthat I've did in this setup: Gigabyte M34WQ 3440x1440p @144hz. 5900X - 3060ti - 32GB ram. With the latest NVIDIA 561 driver. I do run the sim at 3440x1440 and ive managed to get some good results using the "x2". Although my system is not that bad, could the 3440x1440p be the reason "x3" is not working properly? My NVIDIA Panel is setted with the 144fps native, with 72fps lock on the menu. With this conditions i was abble to run Inibuilds KJFK with problens only when at gate in AA teeminal. I also was able to land smoothly on EDDF's 25R, with "problems" again only when areiving at the gate, even with indoor scenery disabled.

Quick question about V-Sync - previous videos mention V-Sync being turned on in the NCP Program tab for Lossless scaling and/or the NCP Program tab for MSFS. Which option is most suitable for the latest Lossless Scaling version (I currently use Adaptive (half refresh rate) for V-Sync which I assume is not needed for this App?)

That's an interesting one, David, some people have the most luck with one or the either, either on in NVCP or on in the sim and of course off in the other. Strangely some people have the best result with it on in both. I currently have it on in the sim. And I would use your full monitor refresh rate. So my first suggestion would be: off in NVCP, on in the sim, and full refresh rate, and see how it does. Let me know!

I am definitely finding TAA/Adaptive (half refresh rate) is my smoothest option at the moment, that said, I haven't set up AutoFPS or re-installed the original Frame GEN or DLSS/DLAA to see if that works any better with LS. I will try using V-Sync ON in game as you suggest and turning it off in NVCP. Just to clarify, you mention using my full monitor refresh rate (in my case, 60Hz). I assume that means V-Sync OFF in the Global and MSFS Program tabs in NVCP and setting the Max Frame rate in Global and MSFS Program tabs to OFF - is this correct?

Hi Mike, thanks for your response - can I just clarify something re: your suggested configuration (V-Sync OFF in NVCP, ON in MSFS and full monitor refresh rate)? To achieve this I assume I have to have V-Sync set to OFF in NVCP Global settings and Program settings for both MSFS and Lossless Scaling (this includes turning OFF VSync adaptive half refresh rate in Program settings for MSFS). Also, do I need to set Max Frame Rate in both Global and Program settings back to OFF? If I follow these steps am I right in assuming I am then using my full monitor refresh rate (60Hz for me)? - or I have I missed something?

This works great with my MSFS monitor. But I use 4 monitors. 2- 7” for my touch GTC’s and another for showing BeyondATC. I spent days trying to get this to work. When I touch one of the other monitors, then the Frame rates go crazy on the MSFS Monitor, or all together just looses focus. I wish someone had an answer to get it to work correct with multiple monitor’s.

Unfortunately, it only works for a single monitor. The monitor that you click on (becomes active/focused) takes the effect. Other monitors in multi-monitor setups do not benefit from this tool.

I use 2 monitors. What I did was set my output display (it's under "GPU & Display" dropdown) to my main monitor. That got rid of the frame jump. Just make sure to toggle the lossless scaling to off before opening another window on your main monitor. Hope this helps.

I just installed this new Nvidia App. Its doubled my frame rate in MSFS, but theres some instability in the program. Also the filters arent working as they used to. It has also changed the 3D panel. Its either eliminated it or moved it so I can no longer find it. Of course I come upon this video a day after I installed it. Is there any update to this program working with the new Nvidia App?

Do you have an incorrect HDR setting either in the sim or in the Lossless Scaling Options? That usually makes your graphics go weird or very pale when you enable LS

@@chrisibbotson6367 Thanks, that seems to have been the issue in my case. I had HDR enabled in Lossless Scaling but not in the sim. In fact, in the sim it is greyed out as an option in the settings. Is that because I haven't enabled it on my monitor do you think? Sorry, asking for an old guy who's not terribly tech savvy.

hi, im trying to get permision for the exe to be added into the game profiles but unable to do so as i need administrator rights. How do i do that? It says i do not have permisson to open the file to the exe into the profile.

One thing you can try is go to the icon for the program, right click it -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run as administrator.

I have an Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti and none of this helps at all. I'm wondering if it's my monitor. My monitor is a Dell P4317Q - 43" set at 3840x2160 resolution and its highest refresh rate is 30 Hz. So, is it my monitor that's the problem or my GPU? And by the way, it seems I used to have a refresh rate of 60 Hz, but I did a fresh Windows reinstall recently and it seems since then it has only been 30 Hz. Not sure if Windows has anything to do with it, though. Thanks for any help anyone can give!

I believe that monitor is 30hz via HDMI and 60Htz is only available by Display Port/Mini Display Port.

Hey Randy, you should be able to update it in the Steam app, there should be a button on the upper left when you open the LSFG page, saying Update.

@islandsimpilot forgive me for being a dummy or if already asked before hand. Do we/can we/should we use Auto Fps app with this? Understand yes we can use Frame gen. I have a rtx4080 Thank you so much for your helpful videos. They are by far the most easiest and plain to understand actually helpful ones. Not dissing anyone elses attempts to help just my opinion. I stopped using auto fps with Lsfg and RTSS. I lock my fps to 20 with RTSS and do x3 with Lsfg to 60 fps.. Which matches my monitor refresh rate.. Auto fps and rtss don't work well together..

Never got on with the Frame Gen mod (flickering navigation lights etc). I still use AutoFPS with Lossless Scaling for the stuff it does with TLOD and OLOD at the various altitudes and I haven't seen any conflict between the two. Although I've got to say with Lossless Scaling being so easy to start and stop in flight quite often I only enable it if/when I start to struggle for framerate, say an approach and then taxi into an airport in a built up area flying the Fenix.

I have a GTX1060. In MSFS Fenix A320, FSLTL Live Traffic, BATC,etc, I had ~25FPS with AutoFPS. With Losseless Scale and @IslandSimPilot advise, I got ~55 to 60FPS constantly !!!!

@@IslandSimPilot I can tell to the 4080 users... it's what I have. I don't care about 200fps in pancake. 60 is enough. My 4K monitor does 60Hz If you have a 4090 and a 4k monitor at 244Hz... congrats... "you are a one percent of one percenter"! You are stuck in the present with us plebs... rofl.

I've just did two complete flights on demanding airports: one arriving at EDDF and another from KLAS to KSFO. On both ive got this problem:kzbin.info7lmGf5XtBAc?si=guiGkkyT-TJeriSu This kinda lag, limp.. don't even know how to describe it as it's not a proper stuttering. When I close LS, it stops. It happens after a while and at demanding sceneries, like this EDDF taxing after landing 25R. Landing was fine, LS did it's job. It's very wierd as fps seems unaffected. I run 3440x1440p on a 144hz monitor. 5900X | 3060ti | 32GB RAM NVIDIA Control Panel: 48FPS lock Lossless Scaling: both x2 and x3 makes this happen. Once, reopening the app LS made it better (at KLAS). But arriving at KSFO it came back and stayed for good.
