Quadsuits at SacAnime

The quadsuits seen at this year's (2011) summer SacAnime this past weekend. We have the demon nine tailed fox from Naruto, made and worn by 2bit30 (deviantart name), then Arcanine made by theBeastCub (youtube name) I THINK worn by her sister, and the white tiger commission also made by theBeastCub worn by the person who commissioned it.

I just love the look of quad fursuits and wish I could make one (I would do Red XIII from FF7). I have seen videos and blogs about the process of making them and not everyone realizes how time consuming and detailed fursuits (especially quads) are. Beautifl job on all 3!!

Nope. BeastCub does wiggling ears, I think they're set on springs? Some of her other suits have them as well. Much nicer than Nekomimi ears since they don't require a headset (which wouldn't work with a quad suit, due to where your head sits in-suit), and there's more movement.

The only Pokemon seen is Arcanine. There's the nine tailed fox from Naruto (I think Kyuubi is its name?), and then just a white tiger. I think it might have been from something, but overall it's just a white tiger.

We saw something like this at sac anime fall 2011. I was liz and my friend was patty. we where looking for my camera cause we lost it and we went past an area with something like that. so patty was about to go in front of the cameras and I'm like "No! Patty! people are taking pictures and videos of them." so we passed behind them and I lost patty. I turned around and she was sitting with them and petting them while people where taking pictures.

Do regular fursuit heads work on a quad?

Not, they don't. A regular fursuit head is worn much like a mask, while a quad suit usually has vision in the neck and the head is worn like a helmet. This is to help with the illusion of a quadruped animal (or other creation). If your head was in the quad suit's head, the neck would be rather short, and your vision would be poor. Near the beginning of the video you can see the person wearing the orange fox (Kyuubi) lifting their head up high. What they are doing is looking through their eye holes in their neck and scanning the area to get an idea of where all the obstacles are before they walk (a common thing costumers with poor vision do to avoid running into stuff). Even if you did have the vision out of the head instead of the neck for your quad suit, it would be very unlikely that you could have the vision be out of the eyes/tear ducts like normal fursuit heads have. Otherwise your muzzle would most likely be facing the ground instead of straight ahead, due to having your entire body at an angle rather than standing upright, unless you really bent your head back (which wouldn't take long to start to hurt).If you Google search "how do quad suits work" and go to the image search you'll be able to see unfinished quad suits (WIPs). I think seeing them can give you a good idea of why a normal fursuit head wouldn't work for a quad suit.If you just stuffed the head and mounted it on a helmet it might work though. It would probably need to be a large fursuit head in order to look anatomically correct though.

With big horrible eyes, sense it was my first fursuit. I have another better fursuit, but I need fur in order to finish it, but idk where to buy good quality fur.

I wonder if you could use a normal fursuit head on a guad suit IF you created the head at an angle. Where the face doesnt match with yours and have small mirrors behind the eyes (on the inside) at an angle that reflects to another mirror where your eyes can see.

Altho I cant tell if a mirror would well reflecta whats behind the fabric. I believe it should work. But never tested so no actual knowledge. And ofcourse the mirrors should be placed with extreme care. So they wont break inside the suit. And a special suit like that should only be handled by someone who knows to be careful with it. But There are probably many ways to work out vision when given thought and tested

But anyhow, a furry is actually defined differently by different people, but the general consensus is that all furries are fans of anthropomorphic animals (animals with human characteristics, ex: Mickey Mouse or the famous Mr. Ed). Like sports fans, or art fanatics, or anime freaks, haha, but with human-like animals (whether they just talk, walk upright, or whatever).

Honestly I am not sure; Beastcub (the maker of these quadsuits) will not make copyrighted characters for anyone for money. That suit was made for her sister, so legally she can't get in trouble for selling a copyrighted character. You can try messaging different fursuit makers or reading their websites to see who is willing to make one, or learn to make your own. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Wow, good luck with your report card and getting good grades then!! =) However none of these suits are for sale; Beastcub I know won't do copyrighted characters (such as Arcanine) so you'd have to find someone else for that, but she could make a white tiger for you. Just so long as it isn't EXACTLY like that one, since that'd be stealing someone else's character. Again, best of luck with getting straight As!! =D With determination and hard work, I'm sure you can do it!

I had it confirmed that the maker is 2bit30 over on Deviantart ( 2bit30.deviantart.com/ ). You can see the costume in their gallery. Unless I'm mistaken, that account doesn't belong to Telephone, and isn't her.

You mean the Kyuubi costume on Telephone's channel? I think that's an entirely different suit. Looking at her video right now (video titled "Kyuubi walk on Saboten 2011"), that Kyuubi has more laid back ears, light up eyes, a different eye shape, the back is more straight and head naturally holds lower, the legs have more padding to them and the blend between fur lengths is a bit smoother, the face has a snarl built in to it and shows the teeth more, that suit has claws, the tails lay differently, etc. Otherwise the only other Kyuubi cosplay I see on ino's channel is of a different form ("Custome naruto cosplay 'airbrush time laps'").

+Macybyrd04 Byrd There's lots of tutorials online for help (you can also join groups on sites like Facebook and Deviantart and I'm sure FurAffinity so you can talk with other people and get tips and advice and critique =) ). As for the cost, if you can set aside a little bit of money each paycheck or if you get birthday money or something you can eventually save up for one. Or do commissions to save up for one and such. Unfortunately supplies cost money, and a finished suit commissioned from someone else can cost even more. Sometimes you can find good deals on sites like FurBuy though. If you look around on eBay beware of scammers (there's been some on there recently offering low prices then ripping people off).
