my old cat managed to become so close with my border collie that the dog routinely defended her from other dogs and predators that would get into my family's properties. It was pretty interesting how their friendship worked too as my dog did not start out liking cats and would still chase other cats with my cat occasionally also assisting for whatever reason.

the worst bit about brian closing the cat cafe is that they dont keep the cats normally-you brought this when i started typing it. its considered normal for them to adopt out cats. more unethical cafes (like owl and other exotic animal cafes) that mistreat their animals and most likely have to purchase said animals and dont do this what so ever. cat cafes tend to work with actual shelters most of the time. so not only did brian close a good, guideline abiding, cafe that most likely was making it harder for him to come across feline strays in his local area. even if quagmire wasnt adopting out i dont doubt he would start doing it if he continued running it. he loves cats and wants the best for them from what i can tell. the cat cafe also handles the crazy cat person problem by lowering the amount of strays running around and making it so theres no reason for any cat to enslave a person to take care of strays. off topic a bit too, but im pretty sure there some dog (and other more normal pets) cafes that tend to function in a similar way. at least im pretty sure ive heard of at least one dog cafe. if im misremembering i think itd be fucking awesome if rabbit/bunny cafes started to open up; especially since i grew up in an area where there was a rabbit overpopulation problem at a rec center because unresponsible parents kept dumping their un-neutered/spayed domesticated rabbits outside it when their family didnt want them anymore.

In regards to the dogs getting fearful of cats if they scratch them, a similar siutation happened with my dog. We'd not long just got her, and at first she was fine with the neighbours cat. She'd bark at him but never really made any effort to harm him. There was another cat who's face i caught her licking...it did not look impressed and bolted first chance it got. One day when i wasn't there, apparently she got a little too close to the neighbours cat and he scratched her nose. After that she hated cats, she never attacked them but she was very defensive if one came near the garden. Didn't help that our neighbours cat also used to sit on our fence or outside our window and stare her down, so he was actively antagonising her. So i think there is some truth to the google search you mentioned.

I have a dog and cat. The cat calls rhe shots. The dog, who weighs 120 pounds and is at least partially a breed that can have issues with prey drive, is very chill with her. Shes scratched his nose once when he was trying to check on her (she can be iffy about letting him close) but he's not scared if or mean towards her. So being ever fearful, while it can probably happen, isn't a certainty. She's also not all that scared of him, and she's only about 10 pounds. So, prey drive is an issue for sure, but im not as convinced on the one scratch and they're scared forever. The key is proper socialization. My mom abandoned my cat when she got a new dog and refused to socialize them, trying to force them to get along when the puppy was too rambunctious and constantly trying pounce on her. Thus, my cat hates my mom's dog and my mom's dog is torn between prey drive and fear. So, it can happen, but i don't think the one scratch and they're scared forever is as big as a problem as google made it out to be.

Ahoyhoy There, Fellow KZbinrinos! My Cat's name is FupaKitty. Fupa stands for Fat Under Pelvic Area. I named her this because no one would choose her at adoption day where they brought cats from the local Shelter to the front of the Post-Office for adoption. I WAS going to get one of these two adorable long haired Brother Cats. They had that beautiful almost Bombay/Havana Brown Eyes of my current cat, "Shifty" and the longer hair of my 10 year old Cat who probably ran away to pass on before I went to adoption day. The other cats name was Gear. My motorcycle loving brother named both cats. Anywho, I turned down the little Long-Haired Kitten because I wanted them to land a home together. I think I persuaded two little girls and their family to get them, that could've been the other time I paired up 2 sibling cats to one family. So there I was, thinking id go empty handed without a new friend, then , this Gnarly cat that everyone looked past stood up. She had a big ugly Belly Flap (Fupa) something told me she was the one. She's healthy and loved to this day.
