Being from Texas I kind of chuckled when I saw that little grill. But the laugh was on me that boy worked out fine. Heck I'm looking for one for my quails. It's just me and the wife and 2 pups . Great video. Blessings and more Blessings to you and your family

It's a great little grill, perfect for backyard or tailgating.

Texans are so big that they drive off without paying on a week-long pay hunt and shaft their guide. Nothing is bigger than a Texas shafting. You Texans do everything bigger. I have the same grill.

New to eating quail and now breeding. Had my 1st couple weeks ago and my gosh delish! Got 14 babies ready on a couple more weeks for breeding and 2 sets of breeders now. I look forward to having meat ready regularly with my ducks and chicken. Never crossed my mind to bbq, super excited now... geeze I am hungry. So jealous...

I so enjoy your vids! short and to the point. Planing on starting up with quail in the spring so I am bingeing on vids and will have all yours watched before I start.

Looks delicious... thanks for the video Terry! Only thing I might do different would be to spatchcock those babies before marinating and so I could lay them flat on the grill. I'm really enjoying your videos, having watched nearly all of them already.

BBQ-u-a-i-l. 10 birds, and that looked like your plate, three of them. I had heard that quail is rich, and a single bird can be enough. Enjoy, (because in my mind's eye, you are just bringing the plates to the table).

How much do the birds weigh? Are these Jumbo or Standard? I have read and experienced that 65% is the meat weight.

If you make the incubator alittle bit taller. For a 3rd level for eggs. Would it be ok to do that. And would it be ok use the same lights and fans
@CoturnixCorner5 жыл бұрын
If you make the incubator taller for a third shelf you will need to increase the wattage of the bulbs and up the CFM's of the fans to help with circulation. Thanks for commenting.
@johnniebunton49785 жыл бұрын
@@CoturnixCorner what about adding another fan
@CoturnixCorner5 жыл бұрын
@@johnniebunton4978 a third fan might be too much circulation and dry out the air. You can try and test it, it took me several tries to come up with a match that got good hatch rates and kept the incubator temps consistent throughout. Let me know how it does.

Hi can you tell me what you think about mixing our own food for quails for example corn,soybean,sunflower,wheat,clover seed,calcium phosphate,concentrate for hens and maybe fish meal...
@CoturnixCorner5 жыл бұрын
I have not, mainly because feed is pretty inexpensive where I am and I don't have all that many quail. If I had more birds, I might consider custom blending my own feed. I do blend some of the commercial feeds to get the protein and calcium levels where I want but that's as close as I get to actually mixing my own feed. Thanks for commenting!

@@CoturnixCorner Thanks for answer,I'm new in this,in my country(Serbia) they say it's bad if height of the cages croses over 20cm but the cages that you've made to me it's far more better,if I put 12 females and 4 males in one cage is that good? Sorry for being annoying.
@CoturnixCorner5 жыл бұрын
@@bojanv903 You can do 3 to 1 (12 hens and 4 roosters) but your hens may get a little beat up from over breeding. I use a 4 to 1 ratio on my males and females. Good luck.

Can you dispatch the birds the day before and marinade
@CoturnixCorner4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can dispatch one or two days prior to consuming and marinade for a day or two. The longer you marinade the more tender the bird will be. A day or two should be sufficient.
