Quake 4: All boss fights + ending

Quake 4 boss fights, plus some non-boss but interesting enemies.
Quake 4 is what Doom 3 should be. It is a good futuristic first person shooter with many nice designed enemies. It has lot of levels that vary from dark claustrophobic places, to large open space arenas. There are some vehicles that you drive in game, some of them are boring (train for example), but some of them are nice like tank or walker. Bosses are really nice designed and that is what I wanted to show in this video.

Ado Podrinje That's pretty much 100% sure. Why? I just downloaded Quake 4 from steam and fiddled with mods. Then decided to check out that steam surely released latest Q4. To surprise I found out from version history that it was .1 bigger than latest version I knew of. Then found out that only and single difference is legal information as it's now owned my Bethesda. And Bethesda is now working Doom 4. I didn't know they know own right for Quake-series as well. Thus it's quite obvious there's going to be new Quake at some point.

Although the Pc version is poorly optimized, I really enjoyed Quake 4. It felt more like a modern military shooter, but it also had a unique spin on the genre. Quake 4 doesn't swarm you with a crap ton of enemies like in the newer CoD games, there was a better sense of variety in the enemies, and the nightmare fuled cyberpunk planet of the Strogg was the best. I miss Raven Entertainment, I really do. Hexen was my first exposure to the FPS genre, and a lot of there games were kickass. I don't like that they've been reduce to, "The company that makes a shot ton of Call of Duty maps" , but I'm happy that they've still got a job.

I own Singularity, and it's pretty cool. There was a video on the internet a long time ago, but it isn't there anymore, and it was how one guy preferred Singularity over Bioshock. Also, Hexan 2 was my first exposer to First Person Shooters...ever. I played that one as a kid.

I run through this game in 2 hours on the hardest difficulty. or was it 1 hour can't rememer really. the closer you are the safest you are and more vaulnurable they are. the farther you are more vulnurable you are and it's kinda harder to hit them as well. They don't dodge from close distance tho. EVEN the dog is esayer to kill if you run on him insteat than running away,

First time I played Quake 4, it was on an AMD powered Laptop, with an Nvidia 5700 mobile GPU. However it only had 256MB of RAM. This meant frame rate was sometimes slow due to page filing. When I say slow I mean I was playing at 1 frame per second in some parts. ... Eventually I added another 256MB of RAM and I played Q4 again, and it was much smoother. .. Good game.

+Spunk Mayo I think my point was that if a 3D game made in 1991/92 could make their monsters follow a player and literally attack the player and get up in their face, then it isn't about technology limits. It's about caring. When there are 200 monsters on the screen, then perhaps that could become an AI bottleneck but then you, as a programmer, would know that in advance and thus, you would CODE for that scenario. It might need one special check. IF (num_monsters GREATERTHAN 199) THEN limit AI. YT won't allow actual code in here in case you're wondering what the hell that is. I never actually played any of the Quakes. By that time, you needed a really top of the line PC and graphics card to really even play it and I was off into Duke Nukem 3D and working full time and working on a guitar album and so.... tons of games I never really played. So, point is that instead of the spider standing like an idiot in the MIDDLE of the room, have it always moving TOWARD the player. That's not hard to do. It was done in 1992 (and earlier with other 3D games like the Catacombs one ID did b4 Wolfenstein 3D. As for doing more, I think some games did about as much as they could do at the time. When Doom came out, no one was saying "They could have done so much more."

Quake 5 needs to have both the Strogg world and Otherworld combined, it should continue with bitterman and ranger, the stroggs working together with the ctulhu monsters. That would be fucking amazing, just like how the Makyrs and Sentinels allied themselves with the demons in Doom Eternal.
