This is something that experienced researchers and PhD Supervisors deemed as obvious. However, for us, who are starting either our master or doctoral studies, developing an interview guide is something very stressful and uncertain, and by the end of the day, because we didn't receive any guidance, we have inconsistencies in the data as a result. Thanks a lot Dr. Kriukow

thank you so much for this. I am doing some research for my master thesis and the books are not really helpful, they are too theoretical and if you are already anxious about everything, you really need some hands-on, practical guide. This helped me a lot!

I took my first ever interview of my research few hours ago and was very disappointed and worried. I thought that might be my interview guide is not so good and that I need to change my questions as well or I don't have skills to prob.... Then I started searching videos and articles about developing a good interview guide and how to prob in qualitative research... I came up with your video and damnnn I'm grateful that you have created such a fantastic video which is not just informative and helpful but also comprehensive and digestible for an undergrate...... Thank you soooooo much ( I usually don't comment on any video but I'm truly grateful to you and wanted to convey my gratitude to you).... Love from Pakistan

Is there some peer-reviewed literature that backs up your steps and principles? This video was very helpful, but I need some documentation if I use these ideas.
@qualitativeresearcher3 жыл бұрын
These steps are simply based on years of practice and not dozens but hundreds of data sets I worked with :) I know what you mean, but you are not really expected to provide references for developing an interview guide. You do need some for talking about interviews in general, for approaches to data analysis, etc., but it is not an expectation to be justifying the process of developing the interview questions, nobody really talks about this (which is also why I recorded this video)

How a researcher act when many participants withdraw in the last moments before the interview for different person circumstances. For example, I f I needed 3 participants of each universities then only one participated in each.
