There are also Mexican tamales with banana leaf, in Mexico we called it “Tamales Oaxaqueños” Oaxaca is a State in the south region of Mexico, the only difference is that tamales from Oaxaca are square/rectangle shaped Tamales are from mesoamerican origin that’s why people from Mexico, Nicaragua, Salvador, Guatemala and other countries from that region eat tamales, Even the people from Venezuela eat tamales but the called it different.

QT I have been following you since early 2017. I'am one of your loyal Mexican fans! The food you had in this video unfortunately was NOT Mexican food! The pozole is Salvadorean. Menudo is the Mexican soup made with hominy(tastes like corn, looks like big corn kernels )also made with tripe which is the stomache lining of the cow. Most Mexican dishes do not contain olives. That is not to say that we don't enjoy eating them, but not in our tamales or empanadas. The drink is pronounced like "hahaha" jarritos. "Poh-soh-leh" is a traditional Mexican dish either done green or red. "Tamah-leh" is another Mexican tradition, they are rapped in corn husk. Down in El Salvador and Guatemala the tamales are rapped and cooked in banana leaf and foil.
