The obvious question is Now What? One hopes for further episodes on the actual restoration of the house. Removing the vegetation is a necessary first step but the what about working on the house itself? Renovating the actual house may be more difficult than clearing vegetation. Excellent video. Cheers.

I live in NE Ontario, Canada and had to do major vegetation removal from within a structure and fences on my property. previous owners neglected landscaping so many invasive species like Manitoba Maple trees and Grape vines choked out the Native species ! I bought a hedge trimmer and saws and Cleared it all just like these guys ! Great feeling of accomplishment AND property value increases, lol. Cheers !

So much work. People Dont realize what bringing in plants that aren’t native to the area can do. Our old neighbors house, the owners before him brought in potato vine.which are illegal to bring to Louisiana. He kept it all cut back. We had no idea what it was but within three years of him moving it was taking over the entire back area of our property. It’s been 10 yrs, I’ve used every chemical known to man for weed killing and hand removal fire etc. I still can’t get rid of it. Like kudzu

This is a great example of Naturalia, meaning 'reclaimed by nature.' Over 70 years in the Vietnamese climate practically turned that house into its own ecosystem and nature reserve. It was nice to see that no animals were harmed during the reclamation.

Exactly! This is why I don't believe that Mankind can destroy the Earth, that's just western arrogance and a gross underestimation of Nature. We can indeed make it uninhabitable for Humans, ie destroy ourselves...but NOT Creation. The Earth will simply reboot and go on like we never happened! If the 'bones' of the house are intact and the integrity of the frame remains solid? You are good to go. What a wonderful thing to watch...Former building super here - these are always a joy. To see something thought to be unsav-able -come back to life....wow. God bless all who are involved in this heartwarming endeavor....This is in Vietnam, I believe? Our Vietnamese community is well established and VERY important to us, in New Orleans. During the war many Viet people settled in New Orleans, partly because the Mekong and Mississippi deltas respectively are so similar. Along with the weather and climate. Now, two generations in, Vietnamese culture is vibrant, and the wonderful contributions continue.

The property owner reached out to “clean this old house” for help in cleaning and restoring his ancestral family home site that has been abandoned since his father passed away. He wanted to restore it to honor his father. I don’t know if this is a volunteer service or you have to pay for the work that was done, but Why should it be given to the workmen who cleaned it up?
