Greetings from Riga, Latvia, and thanks so much for the 50+ quarantine concerts! I stumbled across them around halfway through after reading Jorma's autobiography "Been So Long", which I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend. I especially related to it because, like Jorma, I have Finnish roots and I spent my childhood living in different countries, including a long spell in the USA in the '80s where I taught myself guitar listening to an old Hot Tuna cassette. To this day, I still find myself fingerpicking "Hesitation Blues" - badly - every time I pick up the guitar! The quarantine concerts have been great musical therapy throughout the pandemic, and I lift my hat to you and the entire crew. Thank you, kiitos and paldies!

@Bill Carey Turned my sound bar way up, sitting in my favorite chair, ready for the show! So Bill, that's a nice bass Jack has there for sure! However, I would much rather hear him play his "thunder" on an electric instrument. His talent is much more evident on an electric compared to an acoustic instrument! I have seen many acoustic and electric shows and can say without any doubt, I prefer electric shows! That being said, I still find Jorma to be my favorite acoustic guitarist!
@brianht14343 жыл бұрын
@Bill Carey I believe that Jack's new "state of the art" acoustic bass may be the best acoustic bass that I've ever heard! One of a kind! The craftsmanship is amazing.

@@brianht1434 cool, I’ll look for the good shepherd upload… Sure did enjoy the live show the other night! At times I had the sound turned way up, and I was tapping along on my drums using the soft sticks -loads of fun! Love the humorous stories Jack and Jorma were sharing too!
@BaconTomatoCheese3 жыл бұрын
@@brianht1434 yeah, I was ogling that bass every chance I got… Sure sounded sweet, too! I kind of agree with you, about his electric bass playing - the distortion and feedback- geez who else does it like that?! But he sounds great acoustic, too of course
@brianht14343 жыл бұрын
@Bill Carey There is an Acoustic Hot Tuna reunion concert recorded 03/04/88 at the "Fillmore" in S.F. It is two shows combined, an early and late show. It is over 2 and 1/2 hours of music. Jorma plays incredible, maybe the best that I have ever seen him play the acoustic guitar! I watch it over and over again, can't get enough! If you have never seen this show, you must! If you have watched it, then you know how fantastic it is. I did check to see if you left a comment before bothering you, I did not find any. I can not adequately put in words, how impressive I find this concert! Obviously, it's on KZbin.

@@johnwinter4328 I know that, I’ve seen him. Venessa corrected jorma when he referred to him and the harmonica musician from Berkeley as being in the band so his people wouldn’t hear jorma say he was in the band and file a law suit and try to claim some compensation. Hence the Alan Dershowitz comment.
