actually, where i live the fire department will show up on 911 calls because they have paramedic training. emts won't show up unless someone need hospitalization. so it's not that far fetched for them to show up to this call.

Same in Canada, all Fire Fighters are considered First Responders. If they can make it to the scene before the Paramedics then they are called, every second counts in an emergency. Ours also show up in full fire gear, my guess is it's a rule/regulation that you need to wear your emergency gear no matter the call.

That's true where I currently live too. But where I used to live (middle of nowhere Louisiana) cops were trained and ambulances always showed up no matter what. Firefighters were fires only. Also there were no fire hydrants out in the farming country. Firefighters had to use their water stored in the trucks then go to the village to fill up and come back, so maybe that's why they never bothered them for medical emergencies.

You are right, however the position of the tail is important, also the speed amd range theor tail is going. A happy dog' tail will be high and move more irregular while an irritated dog's twill will be lower and wag more stiffly.

To be fair, movies aren't really designed to be read like a book the whole way through and a lot of people don't like that. It's not how the medium is supposed to work, so it makes a lot of people uncomfortable. Especially since most people don't sit there staring at the screen the ENTIRE film. They're eating, or checking their phones, or talking to friends. If you have subtitles, you HAVE to watch the screen the whole time or you won't know what's going on. And while it's clear that doesn't matter as much to you - since you just said you're perfectly ok with watching a film without subs, even if that means you can't understand it - that's certainly not the case for MOST people. I personally don't mind subs - I watch a lot of Japanese productions with subs - but I know a lot of people who hate it and I don't live in America. It's to do with the medium, not the country people are from.

Watching this again for the millionth time, it occurs to me that a zombie movie where the survivors have to get from one place to another in a fast and frenetic running zombie fight sounds like a perfect idea. As Phelous' montage points out, it'd feel a lot like an actual zombie game, get you immersed in the action and danger of the moment, and really let the fast zombies and the survivors go all out trying to reach their goal. It sounds like such an obvious idea to put into words, but I'm struggling to think of a single zombie movie that's done an exciting running fight like that.

Two rare but good examples of movies where POV-camera works are - coincidentally - REC 2 and Battle for Los Angeles, both for the same reason: the cameras in question are actually set into characters' helmets, as they're special forces and military, respectively. Otherwise the handheld camera thing just seems strained...

Zombie outbreak movies are better when the zombies are already a big problem but I do see the appeal of looking at the outbreak from the beginning and working its way up. This movie is meant for those people who are skeptical of a zombie outbreak ever happening because zombies seem to be not that big of a problem on the small scale. However _Quarantine_ did not give a good answer. All this movie came up with is that a zombie outbreak could only happen if we had absolute trust for insane individuals who bite on instinct. To make the movie feel truly horrifying, the characters should have been using common sense but it still was not enough to contain the outbreak.

Actually, where I live it's STANDARD for firemen to show up to things that aren't fires. In fact our local fireys once mentioned that they respond to something like ninety percent of all emergency calls, so they're literally just trained in everything. It's often because they'd be faster than an ambulance, or the people calling just didn't know who to ask for so they asked for firemen. Also, dogs wag their tails for tons of reasons. Anything from anxiety to anger to joy. It's about knowing your dog and recognising their other body language WITH the tail wag.

Um... they wore the "Gas Masks" because it isn't airborne, but spittle and blood can fly through the air and get in your eyes, mouth, nose, or in through any zits you have on your face. A cop friend of mine works as an Evidence Tech (if you watch Chicago news and see a guy walking out of a crime scene and it looks like Herman Munster or Frankenstein's Monster, that's him) and he wears protective eyewear and a "Gas Mask" and that's just to take pictures and collect samples of already dead people... If there were someone alive with a disease, of course they would wear full hazmat gear.

To be fair, people are super strong when they don’t care about themselves. I can see biting into people or throwing them like rag dolls because they don’t care about bones or safety. Like when people lift cars and break spines. Especially given these are rage infected and don’t have stiffness set in. That said, they still break, so even with that adrenalized strength she still will eventually collapse. Broken bones are still broken, even if you don’t care. Funny enough wagging tails are problems in movies, so they have to cg them or focus on not the tails. The treat waving to get them to act does it.

Actually, where I live the fireys DO show up with the police quite often. The "they're trained as paramedics" shit is actually REAL and happens all the time; there's even this whole thing about how it's hard for the fireys to do their ACTUAL job because they keep getting called in for other shit. Basically here, if people don't know who to call they call the fire department. So they constantly get called in for medical shit, especially since they often show up much faster than an ambulance would. People would rather call the wrong department than wait an hour for an ambulance.

I have the movie Quarantine on Blu-Ray...in the US. It's quite different. The movie's in B&W, shot entirely from the first-person perspective, and a whole lot shorter. I'm pretty sure it starts out in the building, too. I don't remember the firemen at all.

I recently watched a couple other movies with the pov from a camera and they always suffer from the same problem: you as the audience have to lower your realm of disbelief with the actions of the characters because who in their right mind wouldn't just drop the camera and run. But then if someone were to act rationally you wouldn't see anything. Its why this gimmick doesn't work, ever!
