Blast from the past. The song reached me in 1982 In Australia. Loved it ever since. Mid 90s I heard it on radio in Darwin and thought I’ve got to get that song. Back in Melbourne I went to the music store and said harden my heart I want it please 😂. He said we have it on an album called rare cuts 80s. So I bought it. Had some classic tunes on it like sunglasses at night, harden my heart among others . The whole CD was great. Years later i saw the film clip and didn’t know she played the saxophone. It still gives me chills watching it and great memories 👌

Not sure how you were able to get ahold of all these old Quarterflash interviews, but thanks for sharing with the world. I have really enjoyed watching them. I was 9 years old when Harden my Heart was being played on the radio and it will always be a favorite song and video from my childhood.

Saw them in Huntsville AL, when I was in high school....my daughter plays sax now just from me showing her Quarterflash footage and Rindy bringing the sax to the rock/pop scene. My daughter thinks she is so cool when she plays this cover for us!!

I saw these guys for the 1st time when opening for Loverboy. They ate Reno and crew for lunch. I was at the sound check and talked to the Ross' for a few minutes. Salt of the earth and so humble, you couldn't help liking them. We were listening to the 2nd album when my girlfriend and I had sex for the 1st time. I sooo regret breaking up with her. She looks 35 and can still wear her cheerleader outfit. 😔 We surreptitiously still talk to each other. Wink 😉

That’s funny the first time I he sex with your girlfriend we were listening to Quarterflash’s first album. That lumberjack outfit was so sexy!! She still gets word to me surreptitiously 😉

That's funny that Rindy said she didn't know where the wholesome reputation was from, while she looked and seemed so wholesome. The only thing that was wild was that sassy music. :)

When I see all this, I did not realise that when you become a hit you have to go through all this machine with the same interviews over and over. It must be a shore after a while

Don’t forget the music. Even to get their foot into the door, they would have played their key pieces hundreds of times. Once they’re in, then they’d be playing the same musical pieces far more. It would be like being a production worker in a factory.

I don't think the Geffen exec meant disrespect to Portland. It was an era before the internet and 700 tv channels so Portland in that time seemed far away as was Cleveland or Dubois or anywhere...it was just a different time and place.

IMHO I couldn't care less where it comes from! It should only matter that it came and that its great! The manipulation of the artistry of music or any other art by fat ugly talentless bald business turds makes me want to puke!

I see what you mean, I was thinking and remembering how pretty she was and I had a little bit of a crush on her back then. Like Martha Davis I always thought they never showed enough of her face in the videos and I don't think I'd ever seen her interviewed until today. So because of KZbin I actually have a better idea of what she looked like back then. She reminds me a little of actress Shawnee Smith and my sisters roommate, both very good looking woman. She sounds so sweet in the interview, she's the kind of woman that gets more beautiful each time you see and hear her.
