Been waiting to hear your thoughts on this clear. I've been using the liquid glass for a couple of years now and cannot fault it. I have my car flow coated in this stuff and best money ever spent. I've been using your advice and heating the liquid glass up and adding 5% reducer to get smoother finish.

Dry times are tricky and convoluted, one of those things that can be hard to actually pinpoint. According to PPG rep, it actually refers to panel temp which is far different than booth setting, for example you might hit the booth for 20 minutes at 140 degrees Fahrenheit but it could take 15 more more minutes for the panel temp to reach anywhere near 140... Especially for insulated parts like quarter panels and doors and to an extent even hoods and trunks. TC Annapolis MD

Which gun were you using and what settings seemed to work best with this clear. Also with the tack and wack method, if you were painting the cab of a pick up truck would you recommend doing a full coat on the entire cab and then wacking it again? Or would you do the roof, then follow up the second coat, then move to the next panel? Thanks gunny! Videos are priceless!

Living in Scotland i've used this and their ms crystal clear and have had decent results with both. ive found liquid glass needs 18 degrees and above to cure properly or it will never cure hard but that's clearly not a problem you will ever suffer lol;) Their ms clear is pretty much as good a finish but with a different application method typical of ms clears. The speedster is a thinner and a paint rocket combined if I mind right so will help dry it quicker as well as thinning. Never used the new extra fast so was really cool to see you use it in Oz where its so hot, figured they'd give you the slow or regular but the extra fast came out spot on dude!:) Been really looking forward to this vid for quite some time and so happy they managed to ship you some to try out:) Take it easy dude and keep smashing it!:)

Thanks for that gunny it's going to help a lot spraying the MG. I now have a better understanding of what I'm going to do. However you said my gti pro with T110 might struggle do you think I would be better of using my gpi for spraying this or 5-10% reducer. Cheers
@TheGunmanChannel6 жыл бұрын
Because of the fine atomisation the T110 is a bit slower with thicker clears so I'd stilted the T110 but thin it out 5-10% I'd start by painting a panel that's off the car and see how it goes at 10%

You shouldn't do it with thinner clears, you should do it with HS clear if there's no thinner in it. It's quicker and more efficient but leaves you with a superior film build than 2 full coats of ms clear. Oh hell, I'll make a video on it 😂
