What Guns Will Spray Standoblue?

I spray standoblue with the ls400 entech everyday it works amazing. But there is actually a ls400 hybrid that is intended for standoblue. At least that is what the iwata rep has told me. U can spray every basecoat or clear coat with any gun u want as long as u make it work!

My close friend is part of the axalta national team here in USA. They travel all over the country trouble shooting what the local reps can’t fix. First gun he suggested when I was shooting spies hitec was the iwata entech 1.2.

great video!. you are 100% correct on the silver paints. i have had your same experience with it. i now inspect the original panel to see what color sealer is on it, so i can also color match that. my silver blends are now spot on.

I agree its quite creepy doing your first silver blend with this system (i have been using the spies hecker hi-tech 480 for 4 years now which is the same stuff) but when it dries it comes out flawless if you have a good technique. The most important thing is not to blend doors or any other big panel without a wet bed.

Nice one Gunny, I tend to spray everything at two bar but maybe that information is put out for uk users by devilbiss. I think you get away with lower pressures because of the ambient temperature.

I'm sure some of them will know that silver always depends on the base collars for the shade of it same as silver under blue metallic will look brighter than just over some undercoat but they will still try to sell you a new spray gun

Ive used it for 3 years now. Paint it at 2 bar, 1st coat heave wet coat, the drop coat at 2 bar double that distance away from panel and paint a little slower thean your first coat. Stando blue covers well, once used to it its idiot proof to paint with. Worst waterbase system ist nexa/ppg. If your first coat is heavy enough it deffo covers fully. I painted a alpine white bumper, we hade no more white wet on wet and ended up risking it using black and i put the coat on really heavy and the colour matched edge to edge!👌

Hey Gunner, what advice would you have for a guy that's been out of the trade for a long time and I just wanna "get out there and paint some sh!t". I'm having trouble getting my foot in the door, how do I convince a potential boss to take a chance on me when I'm not sure myself if I can get the results that I used to get. I just bought my first spray gun to prime small experimental airplane parts. I bought a DeVilbiss Sri Pro. When I was getting ready to install the DeKups adapter, I looked into the hold and see what looks like a ball of lint down in the hole. I assume this should not be there, but I am hesitant to try to pull it out until I am sure it isn’t some sort of filter. It really does not look like that and I see no mention of any such part in the parts diagram. Anyone ever find debris in a brand new gun?

Great video as always. What was your fix for the coverage issues with silver? Do you spray the correct value shade sealer on your spray out cards before you put basecoat down or just put an extra coat on the spray out cards. It would be nice if they had spray out cards that are value shaded already then you could just pick the recommended one for the color your spraying and go.

I just sprayed the correct colour printer over the spray out card, makes a massive difference. It also shouldn't be up to us to figure that out, they tell us it always covers in 1.5 coats, they should just be straight about it so we can get better results.

The Gunman Cool thanks! yea I totaly agree though, all of the paint manufacturers claim to be the best but yet there's problems like this that they know about and don't do anything to change. Overall though I'm still really exited to switch from sikkens autowave to spies hi tech. It looks so much faster!. Sikkens is great quality it's just so slow due to very poor coverage on a lot of colors. We probably would have switched by now but this Covid19 bullshit has put it all on hold. 😭 I love all of these informative videos on axalta water though, it will help a ton when we finally switch. Keep it up man! 🤘🏻

Kayla Kelley there is a small gasket on the back of the fluid nozzle that goes out on those 5500s I believe you can buy a 6 pack of those for around 30 bucks and that should fix your sputtering
