Trek 100 is good enough for glacier actually I'm planning for shrikhand kailash. Glacier is just 20 percent part of trek.
@SujoyShivde5 жыл бұрын
I just took these to the valley of flowers where I was walking on few solid ice patches. On solid dry ice, you'd need crampons additionally regardless of the shoe, as there is high chance of slipping without them
@shubhamkumar-cw1qf5 жыл бұрын
In your video i saw there is mh 100 as well. How was that shoe? Actually I've bought mh500.i m confused which shoe i should pick for shrikhand kailash trek.
@SujoyShivde5 жыл бұрын
The other shoe has the same bottom grip, but the ruggedness is a little less and the ankle support is lesser. It's also lighter. It's meant for shorter treks. The Trek 100 will offer better water resistance and cold protection with a firmer ankle support for a LONGER distance and time. So depending on the cold and snow and walking distance, make a call :)

But there are many reviews on their app saying that sole come off in 2 years. So is it true did yours also come off. And is it because not using them or even after using the sole comes off? What is your experience on the sole?
@SujoyShivde2 жыл бұрын
If the shoes are regularly used, the sole shouldn't come off. If they come off within 2-3 years, Decathlon offers to replace them in store. Mostly the sole comes off if shoes are not worn regularly or due to manufacturing defects

Would you suggest any shoe for a medium trek which can be also used day to day.
@SujoyShivde5 жыл бұрын
Hi, this might sound really stupid of me, but if it's a small day or 1-3 day trek, and if it's in local terrain like Maharashtra etc. a decent pair of running or sports shoes feel more comfier than these trekking boots for the small trek. I picked up a 600 rupee pair of shoes from a local store and I use them daily too. So hopefully I helped. These are specifically helpful for Trekking in Himalayas where there could be Snow and Extreme Cold and your feet need to be protected

Can you please recommend me a good waterproof shoe under 3500, going for an Himalayan trek and don't wanna get my socks wet by any chance
@SujoyShivde2 жыл бұрын
There are two key ways to prevent socks your getting wet. Shoes should be high ankle, and the shoes should be rated for a good degree of water-resistant/repellent material. You can consider the entry level Quechua trek shoe. Don't pick the ankle length model, pick the one with higher ankle support.

HELP ME Please - I would be into moderate trekking. So in order to buy quality trekking shoes, I recently visited Decathlon. Now among my final pick, I am badly confused between two shoes - Trek100 (costing 6000/-) and MH500 (costing 4500/-).. Please suggest me, which one to buy and why..
@SujoyShivde3 жыл бұрын
So they're both good shoes for beginners with a few key differences. Trek 100 is rated for comfort for longer treks. This can be seen from the walking and waterproofing test durations as well. Do check side by side but to the best of my memory, MH500 should be lighter and slightly shorter than Trek100. For longer and serious Himalayan treks, you'd need that extra ankle support and higher waterproofing grade which the high rise Trek 100 offer. MH500 is lighter making it more comfortable if you are doing local treks of shorter durations, and don't require that higher ankle support and don't specifically need a greater degree of water proofing. Both are good shoes otherwise.

how well would you say the trek 100 handles wet rocks/roads? i've bought the mh500 and it is slippery as hell, i was walking this path which the stones were moist and has green moss, i wasn't feeling comfortable taking huge steps with the mh500. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIOYfp53q7uEZ8k
@SujoyShivde5 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't have a lot of experience trailing over moss as I've tested them only on two major treks. But the MH500 and Trek 100 have a similar Bottom sole and so I believe if they slipped, there's a good chance these will slip too
