It wouldn't really change anything. Rhaenyra wants to be Queen Regnant not Queen Consort. Queen Regnant is the female equivalent of a "king", Queen Consort is just "the king's wife". They're vying for absolute power, not the position of consort.

Characters like Alicent and Otto are the reason I love this saga. On the surface the dance is a Tygaryen civil war. But the match is lit by two characters who don't have dragons or a royal legacy to lean on. Their actions significantly move the plot and the other characters. They not only got an all powerful dynasty to nearly annihilate their house, but also to end their dragons (until Daenerys). Thus, greatly reducing their power.

And at the same time it shows how, when you are powerful like Viserys, you should always choose very wisely, be realistic and also stay true to yourself and your decisions. Especially the way Viserys decides on something but almost always gets convinced otherwise, shows how "weak" his character is. I guess making him the heir instead of a (way more strong seeming) woman was a bad decision as well

Honestly I don't know why people compare her to Cersei or even Margaery (and both women were ambitious and powerhungry, and both were doing more than just doing what their fathers and elders told them, they enjoyed it and there's a difference between happily doing your duty and doing it with gritted teeth). Agree, but I could stand Margaery, who probably would have made a decent queen, particularly if Tommen had the balls to quell the High Sparrow’s behavior(or if Cersei didn’t give the High Sparrow power the way she did, just to get at Margaery). I feel this is super important to note, the birth of Princess Rhaena set off the succession debate not because she born a girl but simply because she was born. At this point in Targaryen history they still followed Valyrian tradition when ruling, women weren't just seen as wives and mothers, all of Aegon's ancestors who ruled Dragonstone, ruled as equals with their spouses. Queen Rhaenys and Queen Visenya were much the same, they were commanders of their own forces, helped create things like the Kings Guard and the small council and were largely left in charge of the day to day governance after Aegon was coronated even had the authority of creating and passing laws. Queen Visenya proposed the marriage so that Prince Maegor or one of his heirs, and therefore her blood, would also inherit the throne knowing Princess Rhaena's birth pushed Maegor further down in the line of succession. However, King Aegon, Princess Aenys, Lady Alyssa and the high septon shut that down. After King Maegor, Queen Rhaena was discussed as a possible successor being old enough to rule in her own right and having heirs of her own already with Alyssa being her biggest backer but Rhaena did not want to inherit the throne (she'd already been through a lot and hated Kings Landing due to Maegor) so instead she supported her brother Prince Jaehaerys claim instead. He then merged with The Faith of the Seven during his reign with "doctrine of exceptionalism" and THAT is when the Targaryen's began putting precedent on male heirs over females, its even exemplified that this wasn't a Targaryen norm but a a Westori one because it caused a severe rift in his relationship with Queen Alysanne when he passed over Princess Rhaenys, who had a better claim being a direct descendent of his eldest living son, in favor of one of her uncles despite many Lords of the Realm supporting Princness Rhaenys. This is where the precedent actually began in Targaryen lineage. There is no law surrounding it however, it's just tradition/precendent.

Book Alicent possibly had white hair like the Targaryens - at one point she was mistaken for a Targaryen by Jaeherys, although he was quite old. There are many theories about Hightowers having their origin from the great empire of the Dawn, and all Hightowers whose hair is described directly in the books have fair hair. Jorah's first wife was a Hightower and when he was asked to describe her he said (to Danaerys) "she looked... like you"

True. Though technically a lot of 'extinct' houses have direct descendants via female offspring in real life and fiction. Every English dynasty for exame directly descends from the last through a female line. So while a 'new' (as children belonged to their fathers dynasty) dynasty took up control it was never really a 'new' bloodline at all. Same in game of thrones. I mean even in house Targareyan became 'extinct' during Roberts rebellion Robert himself was technically a Targareyan through his grandmother. Therefore the Targareyan bloodline would live on under a 'new' dynasty. So Margaery having Hightower ancestry is a good example of this in Game of Thrones.

I think the show will do something different with Jaehaera’s death and they will have her die a bit sooner while Alicent is still alive or they might make Alicent live slightly longer for her to hear the news that her last living descendant is dead. I think that will serve as one symbolic poetic justice of what scheming can cause devastation to your family. I think that the final death in her family will truly break Alicent and make her realize that her and her fathers plan did not come to fruition and it cost the lives of her loved ones. Because after the war, she was locked up and spending the rest of her days in Maegor’s Holdfast because her allies had turned on her and her son Aegon. She was in captivity because Tyland Lannister, a Green, wanted protection for the new regime of Aegon III, a Black. She died completely powerless than she ever was and she would have to bear the thought that even though her son wouldn’t have been the king of westeros, at least he and the rest of her children and grandchildren maybe would have been alive had they let Rhaenyra just ascend the throne without conflict. The show should defintley let Alicent still be alive during Jaehaera’s death becuase that would be a lot more poetic and hard hitting to watch that final domino of your family die in front of your eyes. And think about it the war completely decimated the entire Green faction within 4 years 129AC-133AC. So the Greens, in my opinion, definitely did not win because their goal itself was not to make sure that everyone goes by male precedent, that was just their main weapon of legitimization of their claimant Aegon to take the throne. The real ambitions of Otto and Alicent were for the Hightowers to become more powerful through the Targaryen-Hightower line to rule the Iron throne forever. The Dance of Dragons was all about the battle of the bloodline. And they completely lost that goal because thanks to their plotting their line was decimated within a pathetic 4 year timespan and Rhaenyra’s bloodline triumphed but at a great cost because the dragons went extinct but the blacks at least prevailed over the Greens and their personal pursuit of the dominating bloodline.

I liked him " King Visery's " ...but honestly all this Greed and Killings and War all comes down because he married Alicent....He should of never marry Alicent or at least not to produce any heirs with Alicent...King Visery's put a pile of Sh*t in the middle of the Throne and caused the end of a Dynasty the4 end of the Targeryan's.
