(some live clips) glad you reviewed this one - the "official" studio version.... headphones are crucial --(Freddie did ALL the vocals on the intro.. .but in later sections, other band members sang) appreciate your reaction... pretty amazing stuff from almost FIFTY years ago... no autotune - lol (p.s. not just Freddie, but a whole band.. everyone does their part...)

So many great bands and I think it all depends on what you are in the mood for at the time. Queen is one of the best bands ever but so many others have made history in some way with their music or at the very least written songs that were fantastic. the harmonies of the Everly Brothers and the Bee Gees are amazing, The beautiful meanings of so many other songs.. Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, the Moody Blues, the Who, the Doors, the Animals, I could list pages and pages of really talented bands and not do them justice. They all deserve the recognition they get for so many songs and each group had their own way of making us happy with what they sang even if it was a sad song we were still happy that they could get that message out so beautifully.

First time I heard this I came home still trippin' after partying and thought I sliiped into alternate reality for a second. They did not play stuff like this on the radio (not in my day). Fat Bottum Girl is another one.

There are a lot of greatest rock bands. The Rolling Stones, the Who, the Beatles, AC/DC, the list is endless. However, QUEEN not only fit into multiple genres, they actually founded speed metal/thrash and continued to break ground. They have been more influential than any band. The greatest!

I hope you will also check out "the allman brothers". They were as good live as in the studio, usually better. Come and go blues, jelly jelly, melissa, they never made a bad sing. They have two drummers playing at the same time. And no voice delivers quite like Greg Allman.

The majority of the song is sung by its creator Freddie, the middle section and high notes come from Roger Taylor, but harmony is from one person singing with himself, and it's made up from three songs Fred just couldn't finish. The lyrics, suit the piano he composed it on, not the one in the video and bracelet sold at auction last summer in London for over five million pounds sterling, items from his former home Garden Lodge went up for auction which you can see online, some 30,000 items raising over 30 million pounds sterling without any fees and taxes

I prefer Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Rush, Zepplin, or Yes but Queen is a great band that dabbled in a lot of genres and Freddy is so talented, like the rest of the band. I like the earlier Rock and Roll Queen but I can understand why people revere them.
