*_This was done in tribute to John Lennon the night after he was murdered. The audio is from the bootleg 2-CD "Perfume Came Naturally from Wembley", recorded by an audience member Dec. 8th, with "Imagine" added from the Dec. 9th performance. (Because of the 5-hour time difference, Queen didn't hear about John's death until the next morning). Please note the visuals are from another concert._*

I was there that night (skipped out of boarding school to go and didnt get caught!). What I remember was that when he started singing (and he had a lyric sheet he was holding up) the crowd started cheering and never stopped for almost the entire song. Very unlike a British crowd who usually like to sing, but dont cheer much after the music starts. Very emotional. Also he didnt announce it--just came back from a break at some point in the conference and they started playing--because it was guitar not piano, it took a moment for me at least to realize what it was they were playing

Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people living for today Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people living life in peace, you You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope some day you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people sharing all the world, you You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope some day you'll join us And the world will be as one
