This song is from the Queen soundtrack for the movie Highlander. Written by Brian, this song is about the main character who is immortal but in love with a mortal woman. He knows that he will live on without aging but she will age and he will ultimately lose her as she passes on. So indeed, he feels trapped in his immortality because who really does want to live forever if everyone you love must die.

Thank you for your genuine reactions on the original Queen members’ performances. They were truly the perfect 4 musicians together!! Btw although there’re many good singers out there, but somehow, there’s just something so special about Freddie’s voice that totally captures you, and goes right into your soul!!! Can never get enough of his voice!

Deep analysis, but actually just written for film Highlander scene where an immortal man has a mortal wife. So she will age and die and he will live on. Anyway back to Freddie Mercury. Who will also live forever thanks to his ability to deliver songs like this. There can be only one. And his name is Mercury.

There will never be another Freddie , and Queen. However , thankfully the young musicians up and coming are not ALL over quantized, over auto- tuned , talent-less social media wonders. I will go back and look , but if you havent already you should watch the official video for Greta Van Fleet's song " Heat Above" all I see is comments from other reactors and on the video itself about how they give off Queen vibes. Josh's incredible and unique voice and the bands glam rock retro appearance and sound are a HUGE breath of fresh air and just what todays music needs. These young guys freakin have it goin on . Mark my words they WIll , be the next music legends.

Adam Lambert literally sang the best version of this song at The Isle of Wight. It was incredibly emotional because it was performed the day after the shootings at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. Adam dedicated it to the victims. Freddie is the best voice of rock but Adam is so perfect when he performed it. Roger Taylor even said he had never heard it sung like that before. The light show adds to it as well. Adam also sings this night after night and The Show Must Go On. He doesn't drop songs from their set. Brian and Roger have been incredibly lucky to have had the very best singer in Freddie and then they found Adam Lambert when they weren't even looking for a singer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3SZdYN-pNiNkMksi=PGGlU4htMGuSeDqk

@karenbradley68078 күн бұрын
this is Freddie's best performance of this song, and the clarity of the film is superb. Like you, I get choked up just hearing his voice, then SEEING him pour himself into singing, it is just overwhelming, beautiful. And of course knowing that as he sang this in 1986, he was already full of AIDS, which would be diagnosed finally and fully in April 1987. He had tried to change his life by now, but, it was too late. Thank GOD we have these videos of this magic. I love your reaction too, not afraid to express your own emotion. You almost have tears in your eyes, as do I; we don't get to see beauty like this often.
